KISS Album Focus Second Edition
From: www.kissfaq.com
The Second Edition (ISBN 0-9722253-1-5)of the KISS Album Focus is with the printers and will be available in early December. Response to the limited edition 500 copy printing privately published in May 2002 was outstanding with the print run selling out in 3 months with no promotion! Feedback on the book was universally excellent with comments like: "The KISS album focus is the best KISS book ever written". "It is everything you promised. Thanks for the wonderful job". "This book does a fantastic job of covering all those years that I was so dedicated to all things KISS!". The first printing of the KISS Album Focus was a 562 5.5"x8" monster weighing nearly 2 lbs. Because the book had grown to over 600 pages in that format during editing, revision, correction, and addition for the second edition, it has been reformated to 7"x10" and clocks in at 364 pages. The Second Edition of the "KISS Album Focus" includes new material, rewritten chapters, clarifications, and more making it the most objective and in-depth look at KISS' history yet published! Wherever He Goes, Gene Simmons Reads KISS Kollector!
From: http://kiss.animalize.com
Even while he was in Australia for his recent Speaking In Tongues tour, Gene Simmons found time to check out the latest issue of KISS Kollector magazine. On the photo pictured here you can see Gene hiding part of his face (as he used to do in the seventies) with issue 42 of KISS Kollector magazine, while KISS Kollector's Australian correspondent Donna Bartlett is sitting on Gene's left. The November 11 KISS Expo Holland as organized by KISS Kollector Fanclub turned out well, by the way. There was lots and lots of press, so finally TV and radio stations as well as magazines in Holland paid attention to KISS again. Special guests Eric Singer and Sean Delaney loved being there and had a great time hanging out in Amsterdam to enjoy the nightlife. Especially Sean Delaney had some amazing "war stories" from the early KISS days. Eric Singer joined tribute band KISS This for two songs: Parasite and Shock Me. Cover band Torpedo Girls closed the Expo late at night. Check out www.richiefontana.com for a great KISS related interview with the former Piper drummer, who was one of the drummers on Paul Stanley's solo album. You'll find the interview by clicking on the 'Retro' section, and then by clicking on the link on the left below or on 'KISS - Paul Stanley' where you'll find a link on the left below to get to the interview (or just simply go to the interview directly by typing: www.richiefontana.com/joop.html - but it's worth checking out the entire site as there's lots of KISS related stuff on there).

Gene Simmons Speaking Tour Report From Melbourne
From: Effie Theuma
Arrived at the Palais Theature at aprox 6 pm to see a few die hard fans waiting outside the arena hoping to catch a glimpse of Gene as he arrived from The crown Casino. at aprox 6.50pm a green car arrived with Gene in the front seat, by this time the side entrance was swarmed by fans hence there was no chance for an autograph. We all went to the front entrance whereby we were entertained by a 7 year old boy playing GOD of Thunder on an Ibanez Guitar and a piggy amp till the doors opened. Once the Doors opened at aprox 7.15pm I swarmed the memorabilia stand to see what was available. There was nothing special available. The list of items is as follows:
Standard re mastered Kiss CDs which retailed for $18.95
The new CD Greatest Hits which sold for $18.95
Gene Simmons Tongue Magazine which sold for $12.95
Speaking with tongue Gene Simmons Poster $5.00
Gene Autobiography (Soft Cover) $32.95
And that was it for the memorabilia stakes. Once we were in, we were kept waiting for a while till we were escorted to our seats at aprox 7.45pm. Whilst we were waiting in the back ground, we all got to hear numerous un heard kiss cover songs of War machine, Getaway, Detroit rock city, Going Blind, and more... The songs sounded actually weird to say but also good as they leashed a new life on the old classics. At aprox 8.20pm the lights Dimmed, a video started which detailed Kiss as a marketing business and went though some of their merchandising, this went on for about 5 min. At the end of the video, The drums to I love it Loud began, people went crazy and Gene appeared unmasked with Black leather pants, White collar shirt and a black Dinner jacket with a red rose in his pocket. Message From Bruce Kulick
From: KULICK.net
Hello everyone! Sorry it has been a while since my last message but I have been enjoying mostly being home taking care of things that I can never get to when I travel. I will be going to Switzerland and Norway in November. The Switzerland dates are up on my site and this will be much like what I did in Australia earlier in the year. Also a few of them will have KISS expos as well at the venue. So please check the information carefully. I will have a great band to back me up, and I will feature songs from my solo disc, Audio Dog, and of course celebrate my years with KISS with songs the band has not done recently if ever actually. I know that these dates are not a full tour of Europe, but I am glad to have the opportunity to do the 4 shows. From what I hear from the promoter, I could have booked 20 in 5 countries but time does not permit with my schedule of my next solo disc, and Grand Funk shows booked a long time ago. From Switzerland I will go directly to Norway, to be the special guest for a three day metal festival in SKIEN. Skien is a city about 2 hours away from OSLO. The Norway fans are great, and I will be involved all three days the events planned. I will jam with a KISS cover band, do my clinic with my backing tracks, do meet and greets with the fans, interviews, Q & A , photos etc. The dates are Nov 28, 29, 30. [More...]

Paul Stanley Invites You To Party Hard For Children's Charities
From: Undercover.com.au
Paul Stanley of Kiss is inviting you to party hard for children's charities. Stanley is hosting The Masquerade Ball in Las Vegas next April with part of the proceeds going to held under privileged children in Australia. The Variety Club of Queensland and the American Australian Association of Queensland are involved in co-ordinating the event with Kids Help Line being one of the beneficiaries of the fund raiser. Paul Stanley spoke to Undercover about his involvement in the charity event. "I was approached to be part of this Masquerade Ball" he says. "I get approached to do a lot of things. I had some people do some research and it really sounded like a very good idea. I am a big believer in charities and a big believer in that we need to give back as much as we can because we are very fortunate to have what we do. Some people don't really see it like that and that is a shame. But here is a way that either consciously or unconsciously you can make some good donations through some good charities and in the process have a great time. Las Vegas is amazing and this is going to be a multi day event with a lot of activities and people flying in from three or four countries and there will also be the Masquerade Ball. There will be great entertainment and in the meantime it is also a great way to make some sort of donations to charities. It is really up to us to help each other out in a situation where you are helping people less fortunate than you and you also get to have a great time on top of it. How can you lose?" [More...]

Gene Simmons Update
From: GeneSimmons.com
Paul and I just got back from the NHRA - NATIONAL HOT ROD ASSOCIATION races held in Las Vegas. While there, my partner Allen Tuller (pub GENE SIMMONS TONGUE magazine) rolled up his sleeves and took some fotos of some of the exciting parties we went to. THE FETISH BALL (you'll see the fotos in our next issue) and the afterparty with JULIO IGLESIAS JR, who is also being managed by Doc McGhee. I heard Jr's record and it's actually quite good. You'll be hearing about him. Tomorrow morning, am flying back to Australia for my SPEAKING IN TONGUES lecture tour. Looking forward to it. Aussies (if you've never been down there) are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Got up at 5:45 am to do satellite interviews with 20 radio stations -- and an additional 80 stations that were serviced by MTV Radio Satellite to promote my upcoming KISS AND MAKEUP paperback edition -- featuring 4 different covers and some new stuff, including photos you might find interesting. The 4 Cover Collector's Edition is out in early November. Also shot the cover of the debut release on my imprint SIMMONS AUDIO (the companion imprint of SIMMONS BOOKS) -- which'll be me reading the KISS AND MAKEUP book on six cd's. [More...]

KISS Speak Up Against Bali
From: Undercover.com.au
Kiss were in Australia this week absorbing and reacting to the impact of the Bali terrorist attack. Having lived through September 11 in New York, bass player Gene Simmons had his own words to say on Bali. "The best thing everyone in the free world can do in these really hard times when everybody is being effected by what's going in the world is to just thumb your nose and stick your fist up their ass" he said. "These guys, the bad guys, are going to be fucking jealous because they live in God's armpit filled with sand and you've got paradise right here. The best way to enjoy it is to get out there and have a ball". Paul Stanley agrees. "We should remember that all these kinds of acts of terrorism and all these tragedies just show that the world is much smaller" he said. "We really are one big family. We certainly share in your grief as we have gone through our own. As Gene was saying, the way to move forward is to show everybody that acts of terrorism only make us stronger". Gene Simmons spoke up about September 11 and now he talks freely about October 12. "They are God damn jealous and they know it" he says. "You have it all, they have nothing. This effects us in a lot of ways. It has effected a lot of us". Kiss have decided to donate a chuck of proceeds from their upcoming Symphony show to the victims and families of the Bali bombing. "Quietly, without making a public announcement we are going to make sure a substantial amount of the proceeds of this concert will go the right place, the victims, the families" he says. "Anybody listening at home, this isn't a TV show or a press conference. You can't just sit on your hands and expect anything will be okay. You've at least go to pick up the phone and do something about it. Watch out for each other. Send a little bit of money, as much as you can afford. Red Cross, local charities, you have to help each other because now the war has begun". [More...]

KISS Goes Ahead Despite McCartney Cancelling
From: Undercover.com.au
The Kiss Symphony featuring Kiss playing with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is going ahead in Australia regardless of Paul McCartney's reasons for cancelling his tour. With the cancellation of Paul McCartney's concert, promoter Andrew McManus has stressed that Kiss Symphony will "absolutely 100% happen". While in Melbourne last week for the event's media conference, Kiss announced that a substantial sum from the concert proceeds would go to Red Cross to aid the victims and families of the Bali tragedy. Gene Simmons also took part in the Seven Network Bali telethon. Paul Stanley spoke to Undercover. "The whole purpose of terrorism is to stop us from enjoying our freedom" he said. "Once we get over the horror and the shock of being violated then we have to dust ourselves off and go 'you know something we are free'. Let's celebrate our freedom, otherwise we are giving in to exactly what the terrorists want us to do. I think we need to deal with those people in a very straight ahead away and I think this is one of those wake-up calls to people as far as this hitting home in a way that is most unfortunate. My sympathy and my heart goes out to everyone and we can't allow people to do that to us or our families or our friends or the people we love". Internet bookings for the Kiss show February 28 went on sale yesterday at midday and caused the server at ticketmaster7 to crash due to overload. The site was out of action for 40 minutes. Over the counter sales start this Friday. [More...]

Update On Gene Simmons Private Party
From: www.kissfanclub.net
Here's the latest update on the "Gene $immons Private Party' confirmed for Brisbane Nov 2nd (Tickets available Skinny's 07 3229 2389). I have been advised that the event will be recorded, a video release is planned for the Speaking Tour. Also of major interest to fans is the fact that Gene is allowing some UNRELEASED new music recordings/ demos and video footage to be screened on the day. Add to this your meet and greet, autograph and photo opportunity with 'The Demon' then you have the ultimate fan experiance. I have been getting really good feedback on the souveenir tickets and the event itself. It WILL BE a once in a lifetime experiance. Don't miss it.
