"Without Neil Bogart there would have been no KISS. He was a visionary who had the tenacity, with a proved track record, to keep on pushing and pushing until America caught up with his and KISS' way of thinking. Then again, without Neil Bogart, the bubblegum pop movement of the late-1960's wouldn't have occurred, nor would disco have been the monster it was for that short era in the late 1970's when Studio 54 ruled the night. This brief section pays tribute to the late founder of Casablanca Records & Filmworks for whom KISS were the first artist signed...." [Learn Your KISSTORY Lesson!] [Post Your Comments]

Message From Bruce Kulick
From: Kulick.net
Hello everyone, I just got back home from Indy and Atlanta! THANK YOU to all the fans that attended. You were all so gracious with me. I sold all 300 of the "AudioDog" EP's I brought with me!! Both Expo's were filled to capacity, and everyone had an amazing time. Personal thanks to Keith Leroux and his family, and to Phil Elliot and his family for the excellent work on making the events such a success. It was great to meet the fans, and I got a chance to catch up with an old friend, Mark St. John, in Atlanta. Eric Singer couldn't make the Indy Expo, but I called him so that he could say hi to the fans. Meeting the Demon was GREAT, as I remember him from 1994 -- a typical KISS fan excited to talk about all things KISS. Now he was tall then, but not 275 lbs! His heart was as big as his body, and the fans loved meeting him in full Demon outfit. Hope the WCW treats him good, as he represents the Wrestling and KISS worlds in all the best ways. Photoshop KISS Logos
From: Steve Stierwalt
I have been working the last couple months gathering some of the best action effects and styles for Photoshop from some of the most talented Photoshop users in the world. Well finally the project is done. On Monday, my other site www.digitaltropic.com released the first Photoshop Stuff cdrom. The cd has over 300 effects you can use at the click of a button. Since KISS fans are pretty artistic, I thought I bet they would want to see what this little cdrom can do. Well here is one of the effects I used on the KISS logo. Check out the ten images below. Pretty neat huh? It took about a minute. If you think this is cool and you are a Photoshop user, head over to my other site Digital Tropic and order your cd today. They are only $10.89. Usually effect cds like this for Photoshop cost at least $50, so you can`t beat it! Great for helping design your websites! Vinnie Vincent Gets His Day in Court, Again
From: Capitol News Service in Sacramento, California
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit heard oral arguments in Pasadena, California February 6th in the case "Cusano v. Klein" (case number is 99-56131). For KISS fans, that would be "Vincent v. Simmons." Vincent Cusano, aka Vinnie Vincent, is asking the court to overturn a lower court's ruling in favor of Gene Klein, aka Gene Simmons, and other KISS members. Vincent claims he was not paid royalties due from songs he co-authored while a member of the band. There is no time limit for the appellate court to render a decision, so it could be weeks, months or years before anything happens. When the court's opinion is filed, it will be available on the web at www.ce9.uscourts.gov For anyone who is truly interested, there's a FAQ on the court's web site that tells how to order copies of the legal briefs that were filed by each side - you DO have to pay for copies, though. Regardless of the court's decision, the losing party can appeal to the California Supreme Court, which would have the option of hearing the appeal or refusing to consider it, in which case the Ninth Circuit's ruling would stand. Indianapolis KISS Fest Report
From: Steve Stierwalt
Once again another great KISS related event in Indianapolis. The night before KISS Fest, I decided to go hang out at the hotel and talk with some fans. Bill Starkey the KISS Army Founder was going to also meet me there. So we are hanging out in the lobby talking with some fans, when up comes Dale Torborg The DEMON! We sat and talked with him for a few hours. Great guy. I'm not just saying that cause he can kick my butt either. I didn't know it but he is an avid reader of KISS Freaks. So I made a few comments to the effect of "so you aren't going to kick my @$$ are you?" He had read the a recent poll in which we asked if KISS Freaks viewers wanted us to continue coverage on him. I don't remember the results of the poll, but he reminded me. He was very cool and we had a great conversation. Needless to say we will be cover more of the Demon. I have a family you know. The next day was going to be tough, so I headed off a little early. [More...] [Post Your Comments]

Eric Singer Talks To Fans At Indy KISS Fest By Phone
From: PLAN8JAN8 / KISS Asylum Bulletin Board
KISS Fans, I attended the Indy KISS Expo this past Saturday, and I thought I'd pass along a bit of information about Eric Singer. Needless to say, Eric was unable to appear at the show. HOWEVER, Eric did a very COOL thing for all the fans in attendance: He and Bruce shared a CONFERENCE CALL with everyone! ES said he was busy rehearsing, although he had YET to practice with any of the other KISS members. Eric stated that he was very excited about going on tour with KISS and seeing the fans again. Eric also said he understood that there are mixed emotions about him re-joining KISS, but that he would do his very BEST for ALL the fans. He was very diplomatic and respectful, and all the fans at the expo were thrilled he took the time to phone in. Another bit of news will answer your "IS IT A WIG / IS IT A DYE JOB" question: My husband had a chat with the Keith who promotes and runs the Indy KISS Expo every year. He's good friends with ES and Bruce. Anyway, he said that Eric DYED his hair black, but EXTENSIONS were added to provide him extra length. So, there ya have it KISS fans! Whether you're pro or con Eric's return, one thing is for certain: As always, you'll get 110% from him. [Post Your Comments]

Interview With Gene Simmons
From: Bob Gordon
I'm a freelance journalist in Perth Western Australia. Last week I interviewed Gene Simmons in regards to the forthcoming Farewell Tour. He stated that he thought Peter Criss had been given the wrong advice. "My guess is somebody told him 'ask for the moon, they can't go without you', Gene explained. "Well, we went to Australia in '80 without Peter and in '95, and here we are again. Would it have been great to come back with Peter? Yeah." Gene also said that there were "no bad guys or good guys" in this scenario, nor was the decision for Eric Singer to wear the Cat make up a hard one to make. "It was an easy decision to make because we own it," Gene explained. "Peter sold it to us. So then we were thinking 'how is Eric gonna play with us? Is he going to play without make up, or with a brand new persona'?" When asked if some consideration could have been given to Eric Carr's abandoned Hawk character, or something newer, Gene was polite but firm. "That's one opinion," he said. "That's valid and I accept it. The question is, what about all the other fans who wanna see The Catman? Sometimes in a play... Phantom Of The Opera for instance, tonight Paul Stanley is the Phantom, not Michael Crawford. You have to protect the integrity of the persona." In general Gene was sincere in his regret that the Japan/Australia dates didn't work out with Peter Criss, but was resolute as ever about how huge the shows will be. [Post Your Comments]

KISS Unveils Eric Singer As The Cat
From: CDnow.com
Singer Criss
Eric Singer & Peter Criss
For those who need to see it to believe it, the official Kiss Web site posted the first photo, pictured here, of Eric Singer in Peter Criss' cat make-up on Wednesday (Feb. 14). The posting of the photo was immediately followed by a flurry of message board posts from users. Not surprisingly, the overwhelming majority were upset by the casting of Singer as the cat, posting messages such as "Time to go see a tribute band ... come on, guys, this is adding insult to injury here," "Sorry, Eric ... that's just not right!," and "Why are you doing this to us?" Even the supportive posts were saying things like "Eric actually looks pretty good. It is a bullshit situation, but I wish Eric well." However, the band seems set on going ahead with the plan. Singer, who was a member of Kiss in the era when the band did not wear make-up, is replacing Criss for the remainder of the band's ongoing farewell tour (allstar, Jan. 31). With Singer on the road with the band, the drummer won't be making his scheduled appearance at Indianapolis' Kiss Fest on Saturday (Feb. 17), but he is donating 500 signed postcards to be given out to the first paid attendees, according to the site. Adelaide KISS Show To Move To The Adelaide Entertainment Centre
From: Adelaide Advertiser via Andy
It has been reported in today's Adelaide Advertiser (2/17/01) that the venue has changed for the Adelaide concert on April 1. Rock band KISS has moved its April 1 concert from Hindmarsh Stadium to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. The prospect of bad weather and insufficient set-up time contributed to the decision, according to promoter Andrew McManus, director of the International Touring Company. "Due to a soccer match between Adelaide and Marconi scheduled for the stadium on Friday March 30, the threat of bad weather and the time it would take to erect the enormous stage and production.. ITC has decided that it would be prudent to move the KISS concert to the Entertainment Centre," he said. [Post Your Comments]

Update From "Black Diamond" Author, Dale Sherman
From: Dale Sherman
Folks, if you're in the Indianapolis area for the KISS convention this weekend, don't forget to drop on by the KISS Freaks tables. KISS Freaks' master of ceremonies, Steve Stierwalt will be there with several items for sale along with the Gong that was sold at the KISS Auction last year. Also at his table will be Bill Starkey, the creator of the KISS Army as well as myself. I'm just going as a fan this year, but I will have copies of the Black Diamond books, along with the Alice Cooper book and my new book that is just hitting bookstores, 20TH CENTURY ROCK AND ROLL -- WOMEN IN ROCK. I'll also have a few copies of the WORLD WITHOUT HEROES novel for sale there as well (btw, any sales on the KISS novel will go back to KAOL for the charity). Beyond that, I did want to pass along a word to readers of the Black Diamond books. Since the completion of work on my new book, I have had a lot of people write to ask when BD3 or an update on the first two BD books will occur. While I appreciate everyone's enthusiasm, I do have to say that such projects are probably not going to occur any time in the near future. As it stands, I had been considering some ideas that would update the books with additional information that has been brought to light over the past few years, but projects outside of KISS keep coming my way and my writing career is heading in another direction where another BD book just doesn't seem feasible. I'm happy with my work on those books and I'm proud to say that KISS really helped open the door for my writing career. Response has been very positive over the years and range from fans around the world to former associates of the band and even former and present members of the band. I certainly am still a fan of the band and I definitely will finish the novel currently running on KISS ASYLUM (I'm having too much fun working on it); in fact, it possible that one or two completely different KISS-related projects may open up in the next year. So, never say never! [Post Your Comments]

Henry Rollins Kicks Off Spoken Word Tour With Spiels On KISS, Teen Pop Stars
    From: CDnow.com
Henry RollinsHenry Rollins opened his spoken word tour in at the Vic in Chicago on Tuesday (Feb. 13) on an auspicious occasion, his 40th birthday.....But he devoted much more time to stories that are unique to his realm. He described going to see Kiss to placate Rollins Band drummer Jason MacKenroth and shooting a video in India to get his record label to foot the bill for his trip. The Kiss story became the centerpiece of the performance. He savagely skewered Kiss' mulletted and spandex-wearing fans. However, the nastiness of his contempt was tempered by acknowledging that, after seeing the band play, he'd been won over and considered them his Kiss Army comrades. Amazingly, he concluded the extended anecdote by returning to his original point about why he doesn't fear foreign invasion; if we are ever attacked, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley could rally the Kiss Army, whose devotion would enable them to fend off any attackers. "Following yet another dismal tour KISS had to get back into the studio to record another album quickly to build on the impetus "Lick It Up" had provided. There was one minor problem, Vinnie had exited the band at the conclusion of the "Lick It Up" US Tour, and this time there would be no coming back - He'd had enough of KISS, and Gene and Paul had had enough of him, anyway he was already planted in the studio working on songs that would later be released on the Vinnie Vincent Invasion album. Once again KISS found themselves looking to fill what could be considered the "most temporary job in town". Eric Singer I do a lot of photo-manipulations for a site called Comics2Film.com ( http://www.comics2film.com ) and happen to be a huge KISS fan. I've been watching KISS on the web for five or six years, and I'd have to say that my favorite 2 fan sites have always been Egil Tvegdt's "The KISS Vault" (which has now closed) and the KISS ASYLUM. Here are a couple of images I did. KISS Mentions In Entertainment Weekly
    From: Michael
There are three KISS mentions in the February 16th issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine. On page 18, in the Flashes/Special Valentine's Edition, they are asking celebrities to name their first crushes. Alan Rachins of Dharma & Greg says, "Jean Simmons. The actress from (1949's) The Blue Lagoon, not the guy from KISS!" Immediately following him, they ask Carmen Electra. She says, "Paul Stanley from KISS. Something about that (eye) star was very sexy!" Then on page 20, in the Monitor section, under the title Ejected: "Founding KISS member Peter Criss, 53, has been given the kiss-off. In a statement, the group said it was "stoked" that ex-deummer Eric Singer( who played with the band in the early 90's) would replace Criss for the rest of it's farewell tour. KISS didn't explain the switch, but on their website, Criss claims Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley cose "to terminate" the relationship." [Post Your Comments]

KISS #13 In The Top Money Makers In Rock
    From: MSNBC.com
A new list from VH1 and Money magazine names the top twenty-five money-making rock stars. Jean Chatzky tells Katie Couric who some of them are and how they made their millions. KISS, too, landed on the list at number 13. The groups tour -- also supposedly a farewell -- brought in 62 million. But what boosted them higher was the fact that their fans, who are some of the most loyal in music, were willing to buy anything the group put in front of them -- dolls, T-shirts, comic books, a CD-Rom game, action figures. An auction in L.A., featuring everything from lunchboxes to platform boots yielded $1.8 million. KISS is, by any definition, a very successful brand. [Post Your Comments]

    KISS Freaks Editorial
    From: Steve Stierwalt
I have been soaking this whole situation in for about a week. I think now I have finally decided what I really think about it. Don`t get me wrong, I know how I feel, but there are a lot of variables that we do not know about and probably will never know. Does it bother me that Eric Singer is replacing Peter Criss on the Farewell Tour? Yes. Not really so much me personally because I got to see the band a few times on the tour with Peter. But the fans in Australia and Japan have not. When they purchased their tickets I`m sure they were under the impression they were getting the original band, going out the way they should. I think Eric is a good drummer, but he is not the original drummer that was one of the founding members of the band. [More...] [Post Your Comments]

    Message From Bruce Kulick
    From: Kulick.net
Attention Kulick fans! Sorry for the lack of information, but things are going full tilt for me of late. First off, preparing the release of the 4 song "Audiodog" EP is very exciting. It will be available for sale at the two expos coming up this month. (Indy and Atlanta). I am making 1000 of them, and they will all be numbered and autographed! The song list is: Pair of Dice * Strange to Me * Change is Coming * 495. The first and last ones are instrumentals, but I sing on tracks two and three. I don't want to give anything away, but you will be surprised and I hope you get as excited as I am about the music. News on the full length 11 song disc (AUDIODOG) will be coming soon. Need to get all the business straight about that before I announce the details. But I am working on getting the package together.. don't ask for lyrics in it, you will be able to go to my site www.Kulick.net for the lyrics. I like that approach, and the way Cd's are now it is so hard to read them anyway. Click Over To Kulick.net To Read The Full Message. [Post Your Comments]

You will be in for a huge surprise this time when you see and hear THIS KAOL package. It's a huge double CD set. The money goes straight to the Alzheimer's Association. Official Statement From Peter Criss
    From:KISS ASYLUM
KissAsylum.com was contacted by a representative of Peter Criss tonight (February 3, 2001). It appears that Peter did not quit the band as reported elsewhere online, and KissAsylum.com was asked us to pass on to all the online fans the following, official statement from Peter about the current situation:
"I would like to express my love and affection to the KISS Army and my fans. It is unfortunate Gene and Paul choose to terminate their association with me for the Japan and the Australian tour dates. I am healthy and will truly miss performing for the Australian and Japanese audiences. In light of the circumstances, I wish the best of success to all.
    Love,
    Peter Criss - "Catman"

Gene Simmons Calls Into WNEW Radio
    From: KISSROXX@aol.com
Gene Simmons called in to WNEW 102.7 (New York) Eddie Trunk's Saturday Night Rock Show to talk about the Peter Criss situation. Here are the details he covered: 1) Peter is not out of KISS; 2.) Peter didn't accept KISS' contractual offer for the Australia/Japan tour only; 3) The door is wide open for Peter to play the final show with KISS. Gene stated he is saddened by this turn of events, and told Peter the band wanted him to be in the overseas tour, but that the lawyers for both parties could not come to an agreement. 4) Neither parties are mad at each other; 5) Eric Singer will be in Peter's make-up and costume; 6) Eric will play the songs true to the way Peter recorded them on the albums and will not use his double kick drum set; 7) Gene said he is aware of all the internet bulletin board postings and that fans are very upset and blaming him and Paul for this turn of events. He stressed he wants the fans to understand that there is much more to operating a band than just him saying what does and doesn't happen. He stated that professional bands are businesses and sometimes things happen like this, whether it is or isn't what the band members want. He stated that the band wanted Peter on this tour, but the lawyers for both parties, not the band members, have total control over all of these types of contractual deals; 8) More dates have been added to both Australia and Japan; 9) KISS will return to play the final show in only ONE city in the USA; 10) KISS will discuss what changes, if any, will be made to the set list when rehearsals begin. Gene was very honest and candid towards the whole situation, and repeatedly wanted to stress that, whether the fans believe it or not, they mean everything to him and the band and he hopes KISS does them justice with these final shows on this tour. He added that he hopes Peter will be there for the final show so they can end it all as they began it all. [Post Your Comments]

Criss Drummed Out of Kiss Over Money
    From: Canoe.com
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Kiss drummer Peter Criss says he still wants to rock 'n' roll with the band but its leaders don't want him on the start of their farewell tour. A statement posted on the band's Web site said Criss had left the group he helped found, but gave no reason. On Saturday, Criss said Kiss lead singer Gene Simmons and guitarist Paul Stanley cut short negotiations for him to perform on the tour. Criss will be replaced by Eric Singer, who played with the band from 1991 to 1996. "It is unfortunate that Gene and Paul chose to terminate their association with me for the Japan and Australia tour dates. I am healthy and will truly miss performing," Criss said in a statement. "We were in the middle of negotiating and there was an offer taken off the table," his lawyer, Mike Celli, said Saturday. He would not disclose details of the talks. There is a possibility that Criss could return for the rest of the tour, he added. The band is playing Japan and Australia next month, and reportedly plans to close the tour with a multi-night stand at New York's Madison Square Garden in April. [Post Your Comments]

    Gene Mention In "US Weekly"
    From: Shane Rembe
I was thumbing through my new copy of US Weekly for Feb 12, and came across a small article about guys claiming to have slept with the most women. Gene tied for 4th place. "It's true," admitted the KISS bassist. "I've been with that many women. What better way to spend your life?" The Demon tied with Julio Iglesias, and narrorly beat out Casanova(2,430). The full list was, 1.) Wilt Chamberlain (20,000) 2.) Georges Simenon(10,000), 3.) Charlie Sheen(5,000), 4.) Julio Iglesias, Gene Simmons(3,000), 5.) Casanova(2,340), 6.) Hugh Hefner("Over 1000), 7.) Bryant Gumbel("Over 50," according to his wife.) [Post Your Comments]

Paul Stanley: "Eric Singer Will Peter's 'Cat' Make-up
    From: Footers/KISS ASYLUM Bulletin Board
This was published over the weekend in "The Advertiser." The guys that post this column (PS) have had regular contact with Paul and Gene over the years so I know this isn't B.S. This is the complete article: "Paul Stanley, frontman of rock group KISS, spoke exclusively to PS yesterday and confirmed that replacement drummer Eric Singer will wear the "Cat" make-up and costume of departing original mamber Peter Criss for [KISS'] Australian farewell tour. 'This is the KISS show. This is the show that people have loved and we've been known for. I don't see a reason to change it,' Stanley says. 'There's no reason to not give people the look that they're expecting.' Howerver, Stanley would not reveal the reason for Criss leaving the group. 'This really shouldn't be about airing dirty laundry,' Stanley says. 'When we make a decision as a majority we can't let one person derail it. There was no way that we were not going to bring this show to Australia.' Stanley says Singer will no longer play with Alice Cooper's band, due to tour Australia at the same time. Report: Gene on "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire"
From: Lori / KISS ASYLUM Bulletin Board
Gene used no lifelines, and what he got wrong was so simple, I think he was just REAL nervous there. Kinda strange too, when here's a man who has played to millions of people, and when he's under the gun like that, he couldn't hack it! The question he got booted on had to do with pacaderm, and its derivation. Everyone should know that "derm" is skin, and the answer was "thick skin", while Gene answered I think "long nose." During one of the breaks he was talking to Regis about his mom on Long Island and such, which later Regis referred to. Also on camera, like already mentioned, Gene boasted that only in America could one have their own Visa card (KISS Visa) and he held it up. Gene first started talking about his life, how he came here from Israel as a young boy, and he said he was getting choked up talking about it, and asked Reege to continue the story. I think he was just nervous, from that example and also later during a question he tried to joke with the Reege, and got no response! All contestants are guaranteed $32K for their charities if they lose before that point. I was able to go down to Gene and have him sign my SUPER fire shot I took in '96 at MSG, and spoke to him a little bit. I said we had met a few times and showed a pic of the 2 of us from '95, and then the fire shot which he thought was cool. Tried to get out of him if they'll close out at the Garden, and he wouldn't give. I said to him how much they're going to be missed and he said they want to go out with some dignity. When he got the boot, like the others, he sat in the seats behind the fast finger row on the floor. He sat next to a girl made up as Paul. A friend of mine was called the other day, that the show wanted to have some people made up as the group sitting behind Gene, so that's where he went to sit, and he locked arms with this girl. That would've been very fun for me personally! I did however get to chant "Gene, Gene, Gene" as did some others! Leaving the set, I saw Gene off to the other side involved in an interview on camera, but don't know who with. Overall, fun, but SO disappointing- I really thought he'd go all the way! Criss Leaves KISS
    From: RollingStone.com via Jim Romanovich
KISS' last hurrah may not feature the original fearsome foursome, because Peter Criss has left the band. He will not be with the band for their tours of Japan and Australia, which begin March 13th and March 29th, respectively. Eric Singer, who was a member of Kiss from 1991 to 1996 (before the return of Criss, guitarist Ace Frehley and the band's trademark makeup) and currently a member of Alice Cooper's band, will replace Criss, cat makeup and all. "We've taken the point of view, always, that the team's more important than any of its members," Gene Simmons said when asked to explain Criss's departure. "Imagine you have kids and there's more than one mom or more than one dad, and unfortunately you get shuttled between the families. Somehow it's all one big family. It's not always a happy family." Alice Cooper's management was surprised by the news of Singer's return to Kiss, because Cooper's own Australian tour begins in Newcastle on April 13, the same date as Kiss's Australian finale. "We have not heard from Eric, who is on vacation in Bangkok this week," said a representative of Cooper's management. "We have no reason to believe he will not be drumming with Alice on tour in April and May, but he obviously cannot do both." As for Criss, Simmons suggests that he might be behind the drum kit when the band plays its final U.S. dates on their farewell tour. "We hope that Peter won't let the legal guys, and we won't let our legal guys, stop us from ending the show together, the very last of our shows in America, [when] we will be hanging up our hats -- our platform heels, actually." Criss's last show (for now anyway) was on Oct. 7 at South Carolina's North Charleston Coliseum. Simmons would not say where Kiss's final shows will be, but insiders speculate that they will take place in their hometown of New York later this year. [Post Your Comments]

    Criss Out, Singer In
    From: Metal Edge Online
Ticketholders to KISS' upcoming Farewell Tour concerts in Japan and Australia won't be seeing the complete original lineup but will be seeing a different but familiar face behind the drum kit. Without explaining Peter Criss' departure, KISS announced yesterday that Eric Singer, who played with the non-makeup incarnation of the band between 1991 and 1996, would rejoin the band for these dates, but did not indicate whether Singer would wear makeup or what form it would take. Ironically, Singer has been in Japan this week to appear at KISS Expos (and Korea, for drum clinics). He and KISS will return to Japan for five shows starting March 13, followed by seven concerts in Australia. As for Criss, his desire to stop touring was made very clear in an interview for The Official KISS Farewell Photo Album last summer. "I want to do it and get it over with and get on with my life," he said of the tour, and looked forward to solo ventures including records, a record company, and possibly acting. Asked specifically about Japan and Australia, he said, "I don't know if I'm going back, it's another thing that's up in the air. I have to decide so that's another thing that's not definite." Indeed. It looks like those who attended the October 7 show in Charleston, South Carolina witnessed Criss' final appearance with KISS. [Post Your Comments]

Celebrity in KISS Makeup Nicole Kidman February 2001
    From: Steve Stierwalt
In mourning of the information released on Peter Criss leaving KISS, I thought it only appropriate to feature a celebrity in his famous greasepaint. Nicole Kidman starred in one of the Batman movies. There was a catwoman in those movies. Thats connection enough for me. Plus the black dress seems fitting, since KISS fans are now in mourning for the loss of the Catman in the Farewell Tour lineup. This one is for you Peter. We miss you already. http://www.kissfreaks.com [Post Your Comments]

Buffalo Grove collector plays KISS-and-tell on VH1
    From: DailyHerald.com via Ron Ivanjack
At first glance, 26-year-old Buffalo Grove resident Ron Ivanjack comes off as a quiet sort of guy. One would never guess that beneath that mild exterior lies such a wild streak. At mention of the rock group KISS, Ivanjack comes alive. His eyes gleam. Words uncontrollably spew from his lips. KISS is Ivanjack's life. He's lived and breathed the group since 1978 when he was a lad of 4. Back then, KISS was at its zenith, capturing the attention of radio and television audiences everywhere. Young Ivanjack, one of the enamored, couldn't get enough of the pyrotechnics, the music, the costumes, all of the paraphernalia associated with his heroes. In fact, one of his earliest recollections is of waiting impatiently to see the movie, "KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park," on NBC. "I was transfixed by the visual image. It was enough to put the hook in me," Ivanjack said. [More...] [Post Your Comments]
