Lydia Criss Auction
From: KISSKollector.com
Lydia Criss, the ex wife of former/original KISS drummer PETER CRISS, will be auctioning off vintage KISS items from her private collection. Hosted by Backstage Auctions, the "KISS: The Vintage Years" Auction will start on Sunday, November 7, 2004 at 3 PM EST and end one week later on Sunday, November 14, 2004, also at 3 PM EST.

Lydia met Peter in 1966, and the two instantly became a couple and eventually married in January 1970. While Peter was struggling with KISS (and before that in bar bands) to make it, Lydia became Peter's full support system. She was behind him in every way imaginable, from making some of the earliest KISS stage apparel, to providing financial and emotional support while he pursued his dream. This continued until KISS finally became successful and in late 1975 Lydia began enjoying life as a homemaker and playing the role of the 1970's rock star wife. In 1978 Peter and Lydia divorced, and Lydia eventually became a professional photographer seeing her work appear in major publications, biographies, calendars, tour books, etc.

Lydia Criss' collection contains over 1,000 pieces, including posters, rare handbills, photos, personal notes and letters, pins, vinyl, tapes, promotional goods, t-shirts and even the wedding dress she wore when she married Peter. Highlights include handbills from KISS' New York club days in '73, original artwork, vintage tour memorabilia and a number of personal items from her 12 year relationship with PETER CRISS.

PAUL STANLEY Update
From: KISSAsylum.com
by Keith Leroux
Spoke to ERIC SINGER and he told me that Paul is doing really well! He said he visited Paul in the hospital and that he has already started physical therapy. Eric went on to say that even though Paul must have been in some serious pain during the tour, he never complained! Can't even imagine needing a hip replaced and going out and jumping around in KISS boots for 2 hours. Paul did just that on the entire Rock The Nation Tour. Talk about a true professional! Throughout the years Paul has always given KISS fans 100 percent and even something as serious as needing a hip replaced did not stop him from delivering the goods. As a leading frontman in rock and roll, PAUL STANLEY has never received the credit he deserves! Paul we hope that you continue to have a speedy recovery and look forward to a killer solo release.

On Monday night I went to the club, BB King, on 42nd Street in New York City to see the amazing ABBA tribute band, Bjorn Again. During the show, when the very sexy and beautiful ladies performing as Agnetha and Frida went back for a costume change, the men performing as Benny and Bjorn, along with the bass player and drummer, did an awesome version of Rock and Roll All Night. The packed crowd was really into it. Lots of dancing and singing along.

Kulick/Rolando
From: KISSAsylum.com

Just back from the BRUCE KULICK/Rolando D'Lugo KISS Tribute shows in PR. The shows were great. The first show was in San Juan and the second was in Ponce.

Both nights featured Rolando and his band performing several songs from his debut CD. Bruce then joined them on stage for another one of Rolando's tracks "Esperando" (which features Bruce on lead guitar on the CD and the video). The rest of the show was devoted to Bruce's solo songs and of course — KISS.

KISS songs included "Creatures of the Night", "I Love it Loud", "Tears are Falling", "Heaven's on Fire", "Hide Your Heart", "Forever", "Domino", "Unholy", "Lick It Up" and "Rock and Roll All Night". The crowds were great and sang along with every word.

KISS STAR PRAISES IDOL WANNABES' COURAGE
From: ContactMusic.com
KISS rocker GENE SIMMONS has fallen for the contestants on AMERICAN IDOL after sitting in as a judge for a show. The rocking perfectionist feared he wouldn't be a good judge because his standards are so high, but he was amazed by the bravery of contestants who performed without music. He says, "(There's this) amazing amount of courage it takes to get up there — no music, no drums, no nothing — and stand in front of four people you've never met in your life... and just give. They're all winners in that sense." Simmons joins the likes of SUGAR RAY singer MARK McGRATH as a celebrity guest judge on the upcoming third season of the show.

GENE SIMMONS Interview
From: JimRome.com
Jim Rome
It is rare that I can say this, but I have never experienced an hour of radio like I did on Thursday. KISS front-man GENE SIMMONS made his way into the studio for an hour-long interview. He is one of the most interesting guys I have ever sat down with. I’m not saying that I agree with or condone the way he has chosen to go about life, I will just say that he is an interesting dude.

One of the first things I had to clear with him was the number of women that he says he has been with. I had read reports of 4500 and 4600. Gene told me that the number is actually 4700. It is a good thing I got that number straight. Gene told me that he isn’t married because the leading cause of divorce is marriage. He also said that the male species generates billions of sperm each day and wives and girlfriends are under the impression that each of those billions are for them only. He says it goes against human biology to be monogamous.

Gene likes money. He makes no bones about it. He laughs at performers in the music industry that talk about integrity and credibility. He says that it is called the music business for a reason. Everyone is in it to make money, and anyone who tells you differently is lying.
