NAMM Recap
From: NAMM
This year only one KISS member attended NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants), while several former KISS members were signing autographs at the annual convention held in Anaheim, California. KISS drummer ERIC SINGER signed autographs in the Zildjian booth, and photos can be seen at KissKollector.com. Also at this location you can check out some of Dimebag Darrell's guitars that were on display, featuring stickers of his favorite band, KISS, on the body.

As always, former KISS lead guitarist BRUCE KULICK attended NAMM, while another former KISS axe slinger, MARK ST JOHN, made a rare (unadvertised) appearance. He appeared in a small booth in the percussion area, hanging out with the drummer of the BEACH BOYS. BRUCE KULICK signed in the ESP booth, and on Thursday night (Jan. 20) he joined former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Gilby Clarke on stage at the Vault in Long Beach, CA, to jam on the KISS classic "Strutter" as well as a few other songs.

KISS 'ROCK THE NATION' DVD DETAILS REVEALED
From: AussyAce
With KISS guitarist TOMMY THAYER overseeing it, as he has with most of the group's full-length videos in years past, "KISS - Rock The Nation Live!", the new live KISS two-disc DVD set will feature the hottest songs from the Washington, D.C. and Virginia Beach, VA concerts, filmed this summer in high-definition video, according to a posting on the group's web site. The song list is vast and features a collection of KISS gems, many performed and recorded live for the first time in many years. The DVD will also include KISS Powervision interactive bonus features that include Select-A-KISS, allowing the viewer access to separate channels for each of the four band members. At any time the viewer can watch the main concert program, or switch to different cameras focusing just on PAUL STANLEY, GENE SIMMONS, TOMMY THAYER or ERIC SINGER. The DVD will be loaded with additional behind-the-scenes, life-on-the-road footage and interviews, giving the viewer a virtual all-access pass to soundchecks, the famed KISS dressing room and other rare glimpses into the world of KISS. The DVD is tentatively slated for a spring 2005 release.

ACE FREHLEY in REMEDY
From: AussyAce Plus A Message From Producer / Director, Chris Maelen
Keep your eyes peeled for The NEW movie "Remedy", starring former KISS guitarist ACE FREHLEY, which will be released at the end of March, according to the film's lead writer, Nicholas Reiner. The movie, which features ACE FREHLEY in the role of "Johnny," will have national video distribution via MTI Home Video in Blockbuster as well as other stores. A trailer for the film can be viewed here www.remedythemovie.com .

A New York City Artist (Christian Maelen, Ransom, This thing of ours) is witness to a best friend's murder...or was he ??? A blinding drug addiction keeps him from remebering the truth, and now he's the prime suspect. He desperately tries to uncover the truth and clear his name before it's too late... REMEDY is a darkly comic tale surrounding the sordid affairs within a tightly knit band of urban contemporaries whose extreme indulgences into the dark underground of New York nightlife push them into a destructive tailspin which ultimately leads to their collective undoing... With an all-star cast that includes Frank Vincent and Vincent Pastore of the Sopranos and the Goodfellas, and ACE FREHLEY of the Legendary Rock Group KISS, REMEDY is and edgy crime with a twist that will have you guessing until the final frame...

Message from Christian Maelen, Producer and Director of REMEDY. I produced and directed this indie feature. "Remedy" - It's being released nationwide March 24th in blockbuster. ACE plays a mystical Junkie (Jonny) in this 90 minute psychological thriller directed and produced by Christian Maelen. Keep the Indie dream alive and the spirit of KISS forever!!!!!!! Gene on American Idol Tuesday
From: IdolOnFox.com
KISS bassist/vocalist GENE SIMMONS will be a guest celebrity judge on next Tuesday's (Jan. 25) edition of "American Idol". The show is expected to feature plenty of high and lowlights from auditions in New Orleans, Louisiana last September. Simmons joined judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson in evaluating prospective contestants, providing plenty of laughs along the way.

This week's premiere of the fourth season of "American Idol" on Fox garnered a whopping 33 million U.S. viewers, according to preliminary figures from Nielsen Media Research. That total is an increase of about 14 percent from last year's season premiere, which drew 29 million U.S. viewers.

Guilty Pleasure
From: TownOnline.com
by David Rogers
I have to fess up to a guilty pleasure. For a few months now I've been snatching up old KISS albums and singing to them in my car. While KISS should never be compared to Led Zeppelin or the Beatles in terms of musical genius, KISS does have one thing in common with them: they're a lot of fun.

They're fun for two reasons. First, their lyrics and song titles are a hoot. Who can ever forget titles like "Plaster Caster," "Take Me," and "Love Gun"? As for lyrics here's a classic from "Come on and Love Me": "She's a dancer, a romancer, I'm a Capricorn and she's a Cancer." In an ever-increasing world of political correctness and parental guidance labels, it's almost refreshing to hear such blatantly immature and sexist lyrics and song titles.

Second, listening to KISS is like taking a time warp back to the 1970s. Each member of KISS represented a certain persona. GENE SIMMONS was the Demon, ACE FREHLEY, the Spaceman, PAUL STANLEY, the Starchild and PETER CRISS, the Cat. And as with the Beatles, fans, known as the KISS Army, typically had a favorite band member.

KISSWorld Changes
From: KISSWorld.net
Yes, we know! Like you we have become frustrated beyond words with the delays for the KISSWORLD Store. Dealing with Shopfitters, Landlords, Engineers and the like and constantly being given promises to correct structural problems and other issues with a building that is new has become tiresome.

The Directors have therefore decided that it is in KISSWORLD's best interest to commence investigating alternative sites for our Superstore. In the meantime we will continue to work behind the scenes on the stores requirements & opening and also on other new products for fans. All orders of course will be honoured and by the way, for those who like spreading rumours, KISSWORLD isn't closing down.

Until we find new premises that are of the standard that reflect everything KISS stands for, the KISSWORLD website www.kissworld.net will be your link to authentic KISS memorabilia. So you can continue to order with confidence and we look forward to your continuing patronage. KISSWORLD will soon be introducing a broad range of other, Non KISS, Memorabilia and Merchandise for Bands, Sports Stars, Movie Stars, Etc. At KISSWORLD we want to cater for all of your Memorabilia and Merchandise needs.

Union Live In LA
From: KISSAsylum.com
by Ken Gullic/ KISSAsylum West Coast Office
Well... it's kind of fitting, it's my last nite in temporary housing...and I got to see UNION w/ERIC SINGER on drums! Nice big crowd on hand... biggest I've seen for Union. In the audience was Bob Kulick and another JAMIE as in BLACK N BLUE vocalist JAMIE ST. JAMES.

I have to say that this was one of the more spirited shows I've seen from this band, and again, I give it to ERIC SINGER who played and bopped his head like he playing with KISS or something. Eric was giving his all and that gave the band more energy!

The SET list... in order (w: song/artist/album noted for those that don't own 'em all...)

Dying Teen Meets Idol GENE SIMMONS
From: Calgary Sun
It wasn't Detroit Rock City, but a trip to L.A. to meet his music idol was the next best thing for a Red Deer teen. Fighting a deadly disease, Vaughn Tayler's dream of meeting his idol GENE SIMMONS came true, thanks to a foundation that grants kids wishes that are otherwise out of reach.

The 14-year-old was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at birth.

He started suffering seizures 11 years ago, became a huge fan of the band KISS seven years later, and had one mighty wish come true last month when the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada flew Vaughn and his family to L.A. to meet the legendary band's bass player.

Follow the misadventures of Willy Zilla, a 12-year-old kid with a billionaire rock star father. Willy craves normality, and thinks his dreams have come true when his dad goes into semi-retirement in the suburbs. But life in a small town as the son of a famous celebrity is not without its unusual and unexpected challenges.

Based on the book MY DAD THE ROCK STAR: REBEL WITHOUT A NOSE RING, by GENE SIMMONS of legendary rock band KISS.

The Dad. Middle aged ("says who?!") but fit and exuberant, Rock is torn between his attempts to remain a pop music icon symbolizing youth and father to a wife and two kids he's crazy about. Larger than life, and twice as outrageous, Rock tries to be a "normal" parent for Willy. But his attempts to fit in to the day-to-day routine of Silent Springs are about as subtle as a power chord blasted through a Marshall stack

"Remedy" to receive video release in March

Confidentially Speaking With Taylor Wane
From: RockConfidential.com
by Jesse Capps
I've seen you out and about with GENE SIMMONS a lot. Judging from our conversation today I think you and Gene have a lot in common, attitude-wise. How long have you known him?

Gene's a very good friend of mine. I just saw him last week. We're embarking on a new business deal. I can't really discuss it right now but if it happens it's gonna be great. I originally met Gene 10 years ago. It was the month I was on the cover of Penthouse, so it was June '94. Hustler was having a party and Gene was there. That night I was hanging out with Glenn Danzig and some other people. Savannah was there and I think the Nelson twins were there. Gene walked up to me and invited me to dinner. I was with a group of people so I told him "thanks," but I couldn't go. I didn't really keep contact with him until a few years later. My promotions manager sent my picture to Ladies In Waiting on Gene's site. He put me on his site and Gene contacted me and said he wanted me to come to some of his launch parties and promotions. It was hard for me at first. I told him I was running my own business and I can't just take off and go galavanting. I'm not that kind of girl! I'm running a business. I thought about it for a couple of days. "GENE SIMMONS from KISS is inviting me to go do these things and hang out and I'm turning it down because I have to work?" I have people that work for me - I can go galavant! I called him back and told him I'd do it. He flew me to New York. That was the beginning of the friendship. We've been very good friends for a couple of years now. Whenever he's doing a TV show or a launch party - I just did the cover of Dub magazine with him a couple of weeks ago. He did a show for the Travel Channel that's called Star Travel. I was on that show with him. I did the A&E Biography with Gene. I also did his music video. We're good friends and we talk on the phone a lot. He's a great guy. He's honestly a super nice human being. If fans run up to him he'll take a picture just like that. He'll say hello to every one of them. He's not mean and nasty to anybody. He's nice and polite to everybody. I have to admit. I am in awe of GENE SIMMONS. I don't care who knows it. The man is really intelligent and I admire anybody that has a wealth of knowledge. He has knowledge about all kinds of stuff and he's street smart. You have to admire somebody like that. He's a great businessman. He's aggressive and he knows how to go after what he wants in life. That's something that I admire. It's a compliment to me when you say I'm similar to him. I strive to be business savvy and aggressive. I work hard and I want to be able to achieve all kinds of things. I like to say it'd be cool if I could do something. I never say, "It'll never happen for me." I just run head-first into the wall and see if I end up on the ground.

You're not shy about putting your face and body everywhere, either. Tell me some of the items your face and body are on.

Simmons helps with 'Idol' kiss-offs
From: GeneSimmons.com
The first-round wannabes on "American Idol" will have a special challenge this year, facing such famous names as GENE SIMMONS of the band KISS, Brandy and LL Cool J along with the regular judges as they try, and mostly fail, to sing their way onto the show. The fourth season on Fox will include four, instead of only two, of the popular early-round episodes, featuring eager contestants, many of who are hilariously or even pathetically unsuited to stardom. Don't expect too many changes. "The show works, so we don't want to overfix it," Executive Producer Ken Warwick told USA Today. The new season starts Jan. 18.
