GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS In-Production On The A&E Network A Look At The Legendary Rock Star And His Unconventional Family Life

Mom is Shannon Tweed - former Playmate Of The Year, actress and model. And their kids, Nick and Sophie, are, well...surprisingly charming, well-behaved teenagers dealing with the trials and tribulations of adolescence, even though Mom and Dad are like no one else´s parents.

Gene and Shannon have been happily UNmarried for 22 years and have no plans of getting married any time soon.

KISS star Simmons drawn to IndyCar
From: www.sun-sentinel.com

NASCAR might be more fitting his KISS persona, but GENE SIMMONS is all about Indy these days.

The KISS founder and his business partner, Richard Abramson, a veteran Hollywood marketer, film producer and talent manager, who together formed Simmons Abramson Marketing, are telling anyone who will listen that the Indy Racing League is the next frontier. The new great American pastime.

"It'll be about a dad and his son and a hot dog on a Sunday afternoon," said Simmons, who is waving the green flag as honorary starter for this afternoon's Toyota Indy 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Simmons attended his first IndyCar series race in Texas last year and has been hooked since.

ERIC SINGER Q&A
From: Eric-Singer.com

yourvoiceman@hotmail.com
Hi Eric,
First off...I want to say that I'm glad you're back in KISS, even if there isn't a ton of activity with the band atthe moment. I look forward to eventually seeing you on tour with the guys again after being blown away in DC on the Rock The Nation Tour.
My question...Would you want to sing lead on a future KISS album or if KISS never records new music, what song(s) other than Nothin' To Lose or Black Diamond would you like a chance to sing lead on in concert?
Thanks in advance for answering my question and for writing me back when I've e-mailed in the past.
You Rock!
Jason Davis

ES: Jason, thanx for the support !! I love singing and would really like to sing on any KISS songs in the future if possible or needed. I always liked "Strange ays" by the way.

garmida@hotmail.com
Another question i have for you if you don't mind...if you were to choose another instrument
besides the drums, what would it be...

ERIC SINGER: Still very much a

Waste of Time
From: KISSAsylum.com

I Hate to respond to a stupid post but I have received quite a bit of email about a Metal Sludge post about Eric leaving KISS. The post goes into great detail about who will replace him and it is supposed to be from BRUCE KULICK.

Both Eric and Bruce got a nice laugh out of this one!!

Just proves what Paul and Gene say about the internet; It can be great but it can also be a place for idiots with too much time on their hands to post totally false statements.

Don't believe anything about KISS unless it is posted on KISS Asylum or KISS online.

KISS Reference on Elvis DVD
From: Andrew

I was just watching the newly released 50th Anniversary DVD of Elvis Presley's screen debut, 'Love Me Tender'.

The documentary that's included describes how 'out of character' it was for Elvis to be doing a ballad at this stage of his career. They go on to compare it to the rock band 'KISS' recording of 'Beth' at a time when it was least expected from them......but went on to be a huge hit AND expose them to a wider audience....just as was the case with Elvis at this time (1955).

As a die-hard KISS fan, I was truly glowing to see that my heroes were being compared to this musical icon.

Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame, are you listening??

Gene at Pacers Game

Saw GENE SIMMONS at a recent Indianapolis Pacers game versus the Denver Nuggets. He was attending the game to see his new partner in an INDY Racing Team, the Nugget's Carmelo Anthony. During the game they put Gene on the screen during the KISS cam segment - where people KISS each other on camera - and announced GENE SIMMONS of KISS. Gene received a huge applause. People all over were taking photos and calling friends on their cells to tell them Gene was there. Later Gene was on the screen again during an air guitar segment and before he left he signed autographs for quite a few fans.

Earlier in the day, Gene attended a press conference here in INDY for his new racing team.

From: RockyMountainNews.com

Considering the affinity each has for tongue wagging, perhaps a GENE SIMMONS-Michael Jordan union would seem more likely.

But Simmons, the front man for the rock group KISS, has teamed with Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony to sponsor an IndyCar Series driver.

The two are among those who have partnered with team owner Ron Hemelgarn to put rookie driver P.J. Chesson on the track this season. The team will debut March 26.

March 2006 Q&A with TOMMY THAYER
From: TommyThayer.com

Question #1 You have had a number of different producers, and all great, work with you on various projects. But what producers had you placed on your wish list at one point or another? -- Donald Edward, St. George, UT

ANSWER: I have been fortunate to work in the studio with several great rock producers, namely Bob Rock, Bruce Fairbairn and Bob Ezrin, all of whom are exceptional. If I had the opportunity, Mutt Lange would be my choice of a producer to work with. I'm especially a fan of his work on the earlier Def Leppard albums, High 'N' Dry and Pyromania and AC/DC's Highway To Hell , Back In Black and For Those About To Rock.

Question #2 I've been a huge Black N' Blue fan since I was 11, I also LOVE your work with KISS. And I just wanted to know who were your favorite guitarists. -- Vivek Raghavender, Los Angeles, CA

ANSWER: Well, I like Pete Townsend, Brian May, Davey Johnstone and Ronnie Montrose to name a few.

Indy Rocks Again!
From: KISSAsylum.com

Over 600 fans attended Saturday's Indianapolis KISS Expo featuring ERIC SINGER and John Harte. Eric was his usual friendly self, slowing the autograph line down to chat and joke with fans, many of whom he remembered from previous expos here over the last decade. John looked like he had a great time too, sitting next to Eric and mingling with the fans who wanted to hear every story he had to tell. This was the first Expo appearance by the former KISS security man and I'm sure not the last!

The Q & A was especially fun and lively with Eric and John appearing together! There were a lot of funny Ace stories from both of them and a few planted questions by yours truly to wind Eric up. Those usually don't work but it sure gets Eric talking! The vibe of the Q & A was that these two were celebrating KISS, not knocking them and that's what these events are all about! That's also why certain "expo" guests will never appear at an INDY Expo!

Throughout the day fans visited dealers and shopped at the 40 plus tables of KISS merchandise! Merchandise and collectibles spanned the band's 30 plus years. Former Motley Crue singer John Corabi and KISS Army founder Bill Starkey spent the day taking photos and speaking with the fans, as did Colette Shaw who promoted her KISS related novel, Won't Get Fooled Again. Q95's music director and long time KISS supporter Ace Cosby also stopped by to say hello everyone.

Rumors are that ACE FREHLEY, guitarist for the 70's glam rock group KISS may be appearing on episodes of "Stargate: Atlantis" when it rolls around next season.

Frehley is no stranger of the TV camera having done gigs on "MAD-TV," "Howard Stern" and Lance Hendrickson's "Millennium." Ace has also done voice-over work for a couple of "Family Guy" episodes.

The Outrageous Entrepreneur
From: Los Angeles Times

As the tongue-wagging singer for the rock band KISS, GENE SIMMONS likes to brag about turning a band into a brand.

Behind the garish makeup, Simmons, 56, was the driving force behind a blitzkrieg of KISS-themed products, including lunch pails and caskets. The band's heyday is long gone, but Simmons says he's far from finished.

The Beverly Hills-based impresario is starring in two reality TV shows, developing a magazine, running his own music label and launching an entertainment-themed pay-TV show that will feature uncensored music videos and celebrity interviews. Think "Access Hollywood" meets "Girls Gone Wild."

ACE FREHLEY is featured in the March issue of Guitar World magazine. The new issue includes a short interview with the former Spaceman.

Part of the feature goes: What inspired you to play guitar?

"I was raised in a musical household, so I was surrounded by music all day. My parents played piano, and my brother and sister played piano and folk guitar. My brother showed me a few chords on his acoustic guitar. Then one day I visited a friend who had an electric guitar and a small amp, and it changed my life. I held the guitar in my hands, turned the volume up to 10 and hit the low E string, and the sound just droned. I was hooked! It was like a heroin addict's first shot of dope."

Filming for the show started on February 22, with the premise being to lock several musicians in a house for 10 days and get them to write and record some new original music. Originally the network wanted the group to record an album, but at this time it is understood they will settle for one song and hope for more.

In addition to the five musicians, star manager Doc McGhee (KISS) is in charge and is also living in the house for the duration of filming/recording.

Ask Gene
From: KISSOnline.com

KISSONLINE recently caught up with GENE SIMMONS to answer some of your "ASK KISS" fan questions!

QUESTION: With the explosive popularity of the internet in recent years, what are your impressions of it? --- James Toluca, Lake Charles, LA

ANSWER (Gene): I see the internet as a lot of good and a lot of bad. Blogging is fun, but it's often mistaken for having the integrity and journalistic ethics (at least conceptually) that tv and newspapers have. You can sue a tv station and/or a newspaper for slander and falsehoods. You don't seem to have the same rights on the internet. I see blogging as a way for people, who would otherwise not have a voice, to vent. Some good. Some bad. All in all, at the end of the day, I suppose the world is slightly better off with the internet.
