From: Silvercat Records

PETER CRISS, founding member and drummer of iconic rock group KISS, will release his new solo CD entitled ONE FOR ALL July 24 on Silvercat Records, distributed by Sony/Red. The CD will be distributed day-and-date to fans across the globe.

An autobiographical collection of songs that Criss produced and recorded over the course of two years, ONE FOR ALL also includes several cover tunes that reflect his outlook on life at this point in his long-standing career.

The lead vocalist and co-writer of what to this day remains KISS’ biggest Billboard hit, Beth, which also went on to win a People’s Choice Award, Criss goes back to his songwriting roots with this new CD. Says Criss: "The most important thing is that my fans and other people will get a whole new outlook on me with this CD. A Party For Ace
From: Shawn

This is my daughter Samantha. She is 3 and a half years year old. When she was a newborn I took pictures of her with the Ace doll and put him in a back room. A year later I took another picture.

When she was 2 she found Ace herself and loved pushing the button on the stand to play the music. From that point on she was hooked. She has been a huge KISS fan ever since, especially Ace. She lugs the doll around with her everywhere. Ace is her friend.

Gene's make up scares her so if you look on the cake he's only a smiley face. As soon as I mentioned Ace's birthday, she wanted to have a party for him. Little did she know that she was also getting a Peter doll as a belated Easter present (I got it on an eBay auction and it took too long to arrive). So everybody showed up for Ace's birthday!

PAUL All About The Music
From: Advertiser Adelaide

KISS often cops flack for its over-the-top stage theatrics, but frontman PAUL STANLEY's first Australian solo tour proved that it's really all about the music.

Stripped of make-up and pyrotechnics but armed with a bunch of killer rock anthems and soaring ballads from his new album - and a bunch of old gems that KISS somehow forgot to ever play on stage – Stanley delivered a reinvigorated, knockout set. From the bone-crunching, anthemic title track of his new CD "Live To Win", through big singalongs from his first, 1978 solo effort like "Move On", "Wouldn't You Like To Know Me" and "Tonight You Belong To Me," to the KISS concert essentials "Love Gun" and "Detroit Rock City", the setlist was a fanboy's dream.

Other new material, such as the radio-worthy power ballad "Everytime I See You Around" and "Bulletproof" sat seamlessly alongside such 30-year-old classics as "Strutter" and "Do You Love Me?"

Perth Fan Review
From: PaulStanley.com

Just in the door, home, literally minutes ago and WOW!! what a way to kick off your 30th Anniversary of being a KISS fan, and KISS being part of your life than a gig by the main man himself…PAUL STANLEY!! People today still say ‘Hey Kenny, you STILL into KISS?’…HELL YEAH, and proud!!

Take yourself back to 1977…High School, just 14 years old, and ‘Love Gun’ had just come out in the UK with minimal press (I’m from Scotland, and have lived in Australia for four years), and a close school friend bought the album just for the ‘cool’ cover art!! Upon first listen, my life changed forever. Forget ‘Queen’, ‘Quo’ and all the other staples we were being fed…there was a new lion in the den!! Leap a year ahead, and I’m now buying all 4 solo albums from the Virgin Shop (Megastores were not yet invented) in Edinburgh…little did I know then that 30 years later KISS would be as a big a part of my life as it is, and putting ‘PAUL STANLEY’ on the turntable I would witness these classics live when in adulthood. Paul has always been my favourite KISS member, and my favourite singer in rock music. Yep, 30 years later, his 1978 solo album is still one of the great rock albums released and one of my all time favourite records.

The April 24th gig at Burswood Theatre in Perth is a fantastically acoustic venue, and small and intimate…just the place for the singer / songwriter of my generation. Needless to say the crowd was buzzing, ready for THE Perth gig of 2007. I was in row G, and disappointed not to get a pre-sale platinum ticket to meet Paul, but nothing could dampen my or the venues excitement.

Artist Matt Busch Talks With Maul Stanley
From: MaulStanley.com

In honor of the impending 30th anniversary of the Star Wars saga, noted artist Matt Busch has been interviewed by the mysterious Maul Stanley (a parody hybrid of Star Wars character Darth Maul and KISS guitarist PAUL STANLEY). Maul Stanley asked Matt about his work with a number of hard rock & heavy metal artists, including an upcoming collaboration with GENE SIMMONS of KISS. A few excerpts from the interview follow:

Maul Stanley: Maul Stanley commands you to tell him one good KISS story.

Matt Busch: Okay. A couple of years back, I read the GENE SIMMONS book Sex Money KISS. With the exception of Gene's views on women, I loved the book and thought it was one of the best I'd ever read. Ironically, two weeks later I actually met Gene at the San Diego Comic-Con. So it was a perfect time to get into an in-depth discussion about it. I was there with my then-girlfriend and during the conversation, Gene motioned to her and said, "You're not going to marry her, right?" I was like a deer in the headlights! I told him that I was going to marry her and that she wasn't like other girls. Gene was disappointed and said, "You didn't learn anything from my book, did you? Read it again."

Legendary KISS Manager On Tour With New Band

KISS manager Bill Aucoin, noted for discovering the band back in 1973, is back in business and currently on the road. Lordi, another theatrical band from Finland, is Mr. Aucoin's latest project. Unlike KISS's comic book theatrics, Lordi borrows from the horror movie genre for their on-stage appearance. Like KISS, they play melodic anthem metal which they are soon to be bringing to the U.S. at the Bamboozle festival in New Jersey May 5th. Paul Show Review
From: ROCK CONFIDENTIAL.com

As a life long KISS fan I never imagined it would be so hard to find the words to write a review on Paul's first solo tour visit to our Australian shores. It has been said that the KISS Army are fans like no other, a member of the army myself over the years I have heard comments used about KISS fans describing them as obsessed, deranged, crazy, dedicated, loyal, stupid and fanatical all of which are true. In my case I took my KISS obsession to extremes getting the members to sign my back and having it tattooed! In some cases we [the KISS army] have a love/hate relationship with the band that has in some way shaped our lives. I personally was a little annoyed when Paul first announced his solo tour. Not at the fact that he was returning without the other members of KISS, but because he had again announced the meet/ greet packages. I have always looked at the platinum package deals as the best deals for KISS fans who can afford to pay for those front row seats, but not necessarily for the extreme die hard fans who spend their hard-earned money on each and every piece of memorabilia released throughout the year!

Looking past that though I knew that Paul would still put on an amazing show without Gene, Tommy, Ace, Peter or Eric (depending on who is in KISS this week). I knew we would finally get to hear obscure KISS songs never played in Australia to date.

In the days leading up to Paul's show at WIN Entertainment Centre my excitement was building just knowing that it wouldn't be long until I seen one of my all-time heroes live onstage once again. What made this show more nerve racking for me was that I was also going to be standing in the photo pit for the first three songs directly under the almighty front-man. Paul would have to be very pleased with the amount of promotion that surrounded this tour. Securing radio spots and television appearances on the Sydney Footy Show where Paul performed Detroit Rock City live as well as an early morning appearance on The Today Show performing 'Shandi' acoustically. Paul then sat for an interview with host Richard Wilkins and answered questions from members of the Australian KISS Army.

Interview with the headlining writing team for GENE SIMMONS House of Horrors #1
From: The Pulse

John Reppion and Leah Moore have been getting not just their feet, but most of their legs wet in the horror genre this past year. Now the two are working on one of the GENE SIMMONS' Comics Group tales in his House of Horrors volume. They told us what it was like working with Jeff Zornow on their "Into The Woods" tale.

THE PULSE: How did the two of you become a part of the new GENE SIMMONS projects?

JOHN REPPION: We were approached by Tom Waltz on behalf of Gene and IDW to see if we wanted to get involved with the flagship title for Simmons Comics Group, the horror anthology called GENE SIMMONS House of Horrors. We wrote up some rough ideas for a story and passed them on. Tom, Chris Ryall and Gene approved the ideas and we went from there.

Thanks to everyone for sending in their reviews of Paul's Australian shows. Please keep them coming! You can email reviews and comments to TeamPaulStanley@aol.com.

Here are some of the latest fan reviews we've received:

What can you say other than BRILLIANT! It was an absolute pleasure to see Paul and the SN Band live it was a fantastic show! I last saw KISS on the Rock The Nation Tour 2004 in Brisbane and the atmosphere last night was just as electric. I love arena shows but seeing Paul up close in a much more intimate setting really opened my eyes to how truly talented Paul and the SN band are as performers and musicians! The stage layout was great and the gig was very tight with Paul and Co. belting out some all time classics plus great new hits from Live To Win! Thank you Paul for being such a fantastic person and performer and for taking the Tour down-under to Australia ! We Love You!

ERIC SINGER Project @ Underworld
From: Jukebox music rocks

To promote their recently released live CD and DVD from their Japan/Australia tour last year, KISS /Alice Cooper drummer ERIC SINGER brought his all-star covers band to Europe for the first time since May 2005. Original members BRUCE KULICK (guitar, ex- KISS /Grand Funk Railroad) and John Corabi (vocals/guitar, ex-Mötley Crüe) and bassist Chuck Garric (Alice Cooper/Ex-Slash’s Snakepit) were last here in November 2005 as Union featuring Cinderella drummer Fred Coury.

Slightly out-of-place Swiss openers Ever Since, supporting their new album Between Heaven And Hell, played a strong, and very heavy set to a receptive crowd (surprisingly large, for a support band) who clearly didn’t know any of the songs, but enjoyed it all the same. Ever Since mix industrial sounds with heavy guitars and a triple-vocal approach from man-mountain guitarist Stéphane (extreme vocals), petite singer Ludivine (female vocals) and keyboard player JP (clean vocals) and, men in the front row enjoying the visual attraction of Ludivine aside, I think this unique approach to the delivery of the songs is what peaked the interest of much of the crowd. The album bears investigating (look for a review soon).

As is often the case with any ESP/Union show, the setlist relied heavily on KISS songs. The bands always play a selection of songs by the current or former full-time employers, but in recent years, particularly with the addition of Chuck Garric, more KISS tracks have found their way into the set. On this particular night the full repertoire of KISS numbers was raided, producing no less than eight songs in a set of 19. While they play these songs absolutely perfectly, better, some would say, than the current real deal, it does make the set somewhat one-sided in its composition.

Adding New Jewels To His Crown
From: Maxim.com

Obviously, the thing on everybody's mind right now is your face-lift. Was there anything in particular that drove you to that decision?

It really wasn't a big thought. The producer [of GENE SIMMONS Family Jewels] asked, "How about having a face-lift? And we'll film the whole procedure." And I thought about it for a while, and I thought, Yeah, sure. So we did his and hers face-lifts. I'm a type-A personality. Once I commit to something, I do it all the way. And now I'm even more stunning than I was before.

Was it annoying having the cameras up your ass during the recovery process?

No, I like things up my ass. Usually farm animals, but that's another story [laughs]. I don't mind having the cameras there at all. In fact, I invite them into situations that they don't want to go into. Neither Shannon nor the kids are too thrilled with having cameras around them; but I'm an only child, so I crave attention.

What do you think sets your show apart from similar shows like The Osbournes?

One of rock's greatest artists treated fans to an electrifying, bombastic performance at the Enmore Theatre last night as he strutted across the stage with more energy and vitality than many of those half his years.

PAUL STANLEY Brings The House Down In Sydney
From: Kaori Hashimoto

PAUL STANLEY has made a triumphant return to Australia (yet again!), this time for his first ever solo tour outside America - and legions of KISS fans and the Star Child himself are loving EVERY MINUTE OF IT! (One must wonder if there will ever be a FINAL Down Under tour for him...??)

He played the Enmore Theatre (where KISS staged their intimate 'KISS In Your Face' show back in 2004) on April 16 & 17, to the wild roars of Sydney fans.

The set list included the usual suspects (regular KISS numbers such as Lick It Up, Strutter, Do You Love Me and Love Gun), rarely-performed gems (A Million To One, Magic Touch), and several songs off Paul's two solo albums (Live To Win, Move On, Bulletproof, Tonight You Belong To Me, among others). Overall, the set list was spiced up with lots of 'PAUL STANLEY Specials' and his solo repertoire sounded really fresh even to the ears of the most seasoned KISS concert-goers.

PAUL STANLEY: Illegal Downloading Is 'One Of The Tragedies Of The 21st Century'
From: Australia 's Herald Sun

"Downloading is one of the tragedies of the 21st century," Stanley said yesterday. "Under the guise of technology and fancy jargon, people have legalised stealing.

"When you say you're sharing files . . . you can't share what you don't own.

"I can't share your car. Sharing something with one person is one thing, sharing with tens of thousands of people is a crime. It's robbery."

PAUL STANLEY Lives To Win
From: Sydney Morning Herald

PAUL STANLEY isn't sure how much make-up he's gone through over his stellar four-decade career but guesses it would be, well, a fair bit.

"Between make-up and hair spray, I'm sure the hair spray alone is responsible for the hole in the ozone layer,'' confesses the rock demigod. "Between spraying it and holding my breath, it was quite a feat, but you gotta look good that's what it's all about."

Stanley minus make-up, but almost certainly still with hair spray, is touring his album Live to Win, his first solo effort since all KISS's members released individual self-titled records way back in 1978. Curiously, the fact he's waited until this particular juncture has a lot to do with being a homebody.

KISS Remembers MARK ST. JOHN
From: KISSOnline

"Mark tried his best to become the guitar player that KISS and our fans needed, so that we could continue moving forward. I enjoyed and am proud of our work together on Animalize and know how much he wanted to take that leap to the stage to play with us live. He was gracious in his acceptance that it wouldn't happen and was supportive of Bruce and a gentleman when it was clear that his ailment would end his time with us." - PAUL STANLEY

"Mark was a great guitarist and a good man. He will be missed." - GENE SIMMONS

"I would like to express my thoughts on the loss of MARK ST. JOHN. He was a talented guitarist that has his place in KISStory. I met Mark many years ago when he was looking for a drummer for White Tiger. I was flattered that he contacted me about the drum chair but I had other commitments at that time."

Chiropractor With A Rockin' Collection
From: Today's Chiropractic

Though it may be unusual to decorate your home with a Coca-Cola theme or to search high and low for B.J. Palmer memorabilia, having unique collections is just what the doctor ordered for these four chiropractors. Here, they share the details of their passions, from their most treasured possessions to the moment that started it all.

When Peter Joffe, D.C., pulled a muscle in his back while bowling with some friends during college, he tried everything from painkillers to hot packs, but nothing touched the pain. After a few days, he visited the chiropractor that his sister used after a car accident, and within a couple of visits, his pain was gone. By his senior year, the biology major had decided to become a chiropractor, and today Joffe, who specializes in the Chiropractic Bio-Physics (CBP) technique, operates Joffe Family Chiropractic in Manalapan, N.J.

While his passion for chiropractic has its roots in his college years, Joffe began collecting KISS memorabilia when he was just a toddler, after his teenage brother introduced him to the band. "At that age, usually little kids are either deathly afraid of KISS or think they’re like superheroes," Joffe recalls. "I was definitely the latter. At that age, I got things like the original KISS dolls and the original KISS lunchbox for Christmas and birthdays. I used to take the lunchbox to nursery school and kindergarten. As I got older, I started to get into not only collecting the albums, but different pictures, posters and KISS videos. I used to go to KISS conventions and collect stuff like that. My room at my parents’ house used to look like a KISS shrine; once I ran out of wall space, I started putting stuff up on the ceiling." Over the years, Joffe has had several items autographed by members of the band, including books, albums and his childhood lunchbox. And not only has he been to over 20 concerts at which he’s caught several guitar pics, he attended the funeral when KISS’s second drummer, ERIC CARR, died.

Here's an interesting pic of "The Sault Crew" who put on the war paint for the Easter Seals Ball Hockey Tournament. The five of us are huge fans and look forward to their concert come this July in our area.

That day was filled with excitement not only for us but the crowd we had following us each game. The war paint took on another life and it brought out the best in us and was truly an intimidating factor. By days end they were playing KISS songs for us during our warm up and after each game.

KISS ROCKS!

PAUL Footy Show Review
From: PaulStanley.com

Tonight in Australia on Channel 9 PAUL STANLEY and the house band were guests on The Footy Show.

Quite a few members of the KISS ARMY AUSTRALIA were in attendance and made themselves very vocal throughout the show. George Xirocostas and myself from KAA can be seen holding KISS ARMY AUSTRALIA certificates through out the broadcast. Paul Vaugtin showed his certificate to the cameras and let the whole of Australia know the KAA was in the house.

The Footy Show host Paul Vaugtin is a huge KISS fan and he asked Paul a few questions before Paul kicked off with a killer rendition of Detroit Rock City. Paul and the house band looked in top form as the got the audience up on their feet.

GENE Rocks Times Square
From: XBox.com

Today at the Virgin Megastore in Times Square, NYC, gamers and rockers alike were treated to an event of heroic proportions. Guitar Hero II recently launched for Xbox 360, and to celebrate, five lucky gamers got the chance to win a jam session with the God of Rock, GENE SIMMONS.

Hardcore fans lined up at the front of the stage hoping to see a glimpse of their favorite star including two boys who were no more than 15 years old who took their spots at 6:30 A.M. The youngest told stories of how he went to his first KISS concert when he was three years old.

As the contest started, everyone was already in a rockin' mood and the first contestant hit the stage running. Daniel Serna, Kelly Law-Yone, J.W. McNay, Matt Nowak, and Felicia Williams all strummed hard to their songs. All the contestants did a great job, especially since it was the first time in front of an audience for some of them.

MARK ST. JOHN's Career Beyond KISS
From: KISS FAQ

MARK ST. JOHN’s KISS career may have been over with the blink of an eye in 1984, but the KISSFAQ would like to throw some random stuff at you about his musical career…

To Hassle-the-Hoff’s Q "Is Everybody Happy?" I’d suggest the A is "Only if the bills get paid!" Mark appeared in David Hasslehoff’s "Is Everybody Happy" music video. David had a pretty successful musical career in Europe…

Mark also worked in a band featuring David Donato (Vocals), J.R. Saenz (Drums), Glenn Hughes (Vocals/Bass). Demos the band had recorded with producer Andy Johns and guitarist Neil Citron, prior to Mark joining, apparently led to Donato’s equally short tenure with another legendary band: Black Sabbath. Neil Citron had been the guitarist in the GENE SIMMONS produced act Virgin (who didn’t release an album).

KISS Concert Experience - A Flashback
From: Benjamin Knutson

My mother has been listening to KISS as far as their first album. She was the one who took me to my first concert. It was the Revenge tour (I'd loved KISS since Animalize, and as long as I've been ALIVE (pun intended) I'll never forget when the statue revealed it was a middle finger and a skull. I was truly blessed with a very special (and by that I mean very cool) mother. She took me to that concert, and every KISS concert in Minneapolis / St. Paul since. The reunion tour was literally THE most important concert [I've been to many] of my entire life, so beautiful and yet so spectacular. We were close enough to literally feel the heat of GENE's fire. To that spectacular I went as ACE, My long time favorite member of the band (I was ACE for Halloween as long as I can remember). Rockets flared from the very tips of his guitar. It was everything I'd really ever hoped for. All four there, in the flesh. Here's a photo of me as I was when I went to that most amazing experience of my entire life (I was 13).

P.S. I still own the KISS ARMY shirt. It’s very much worn but it still exists.

"I want to watch the show," he said of his strong desire to get tickets. "I've never seen KISS."

Former KISS Guitarist MARK ST JOHN Dies At Age 51
From: KISSAsylum.com

Former KISS guitarist MARK ST JOHN passed away this morning of a brain hemorrhage. He was 51. Mark replaced KISS guitarist VINNIE VINCENT in 1984, only to shortly thereafter develop Reiters Syndrome, a form or arthritis, which left his hand too swollen at times to play guitar. Mark played on all but one of the tracks of the 1984 Animalize album. On the subsequent tour his condition had deteriorated and was only able to play 1 full and 3 partial shows. BRUCE KULICK was called in as a temporary guitarist to play the remainder of the partial sets as well as the rest of the tour. Mark's condition was not improving and sadly had to soon step down to have Kulick take his place permanently on December 8, 1984.

His musical career not over, Mark later formed the band White Tiger in 1986 and then interestingly enough teamed up with former KISS drummer PETER CRISS to record a demo in 1990. A self-produced CD entitled the MARK ST JOHN Project was released in 1999.

Born Mark Norton in Anaheim California on January 7, 1956. He is survived by a younger brother and sister.

Mark truly was an incredible guitarist with amazing talent. Check out this video of him playing an acoustic guitar solo backstage at a Torpedo Girls gig. He will be greatly missed by his fans and is a great loss to the music world in general.

You get to sit in your bed, read magazines and have the children bring you food. [I took] sleeping pills because you have to sleep sitting up for three weeks. That is really hard. Gene only took painkillers two or three times. He didn't feel pain at all."

A Message From BRUCE KULICK
From: Kulick.net

Hello everyone! What a fantastic tour I had with ESP in Europe. So much to tell you but I am so busy with other new things going on, I will give you all a brief run down and you can enjoy my pix.

We rocked in Bergen, Norway with the rain falling for a record 90 days in a row. Cool club, and we tested out our set with a crazy crowd. Did some press for the TV station there, and then off early for Copenhagen. Denmark is cool and we love the place called The Rock as we have been there before. Many people from Sweden come there, and the show went great. Next we were off to Holland for a LONG day, with KISS expo and show that night all in one day so I was drinking some coffee to keep me going. The expo was well attended and we did the sound check for that crowd. The show in the evening was one of my favorites.

We drove the next day for a show in Germany, and that club in Bochum has a really great stage. It snowed that night and Eric was laughing as he kind of wished it on us! Europe was very mild this winter so the snow was a shock for everyone! We had a few days off in Germany and spent time in a small city called Babenhausen. Great hotel and the staff and our German friends looked after us very kindly. We drove to Heidelberg for a dinner with the people who run the Hard Rock there. Great city with very cool shopping.

KISS Photographer Deat At 67
From: Blabbermouth

The Associated Press reports that Joel Brodsky, whose photography was featured on hundreds of music album covers, including the 1974 self-titled debut for the rock band KISS, has died at age 67, his daughter said.

Brodsky died March 1 in Stamford of a heart attack, his daughter, Jill Holt, said Saturday. He had moved to Connecticut about five years ago from New York City.

The "KISS" album cover showed the group positioned against a black background in a pose visually reminiscent of THE BEATLES' "With the Beatles" album (drummer PETER CRISS stated that this was the visual effect the band was looking for). Three of the four band members applied their own makeup for the album cover photo, as they usually did; but PETER CRISS's makeup was applied by a professional whose work came out looking quite a bit different from the look Criss had established, and to which he would return immediately afterward.

New PAUL STANLEY Art
From: PaulStanley.com

In getting ready for his Australian solo tour, Paul invested time in both rehearsal and meditation.

From this intimate introspection, a new concept was born.

"I realized that for me, there is not such a thing as a finished painting, the work is only terminated by practicality" says Paul. "One day I found myself looking at a print of "Infinite Solitude" hanging in my studio, and felt the urge to give it a new breath of life. I was interested in seeing where solitude might lead. I began painting over the printed canvas to create a sense of dense deep colors, giving way to light, energy, and a new reality. That is why I chose to call it "After Solitude One". I am planning to explore and redefine all of my prints. The possibilities are limitless".

"AFTER SOLITUDE ONE" 40" X 40" (original on preprinted canvas).

April 2007 Q&A With Tommy
From: TommyThayer.com

Question 1: Do you and Ace ever speak or even have a friendship at any level?
- Billy Hahn, Bradford, IL

Answer: I last saw Ace at the VH1 Rock Honors show in Las Vegas last year, and it was an honor for me to be there alongside one of my biggest influences on guitar. As I got to know him during the last ten years, we had a lot of great (and crazy) times on the road. Ace has always been a good guy and very funny.

Question 2: Hey Tommy I am a new KISS fan and I am from India. I thought u rock and you're one of my fav guitarists. I was wondering when u guys will come to India and if u do, plz come to Hyderabad. Man, could u give me some tips in playing the guitar like u? Thanx!
