Click to enlarge KISS Shows Love To Vets
From: Chronical.Augusta.com

Although their long locks were far from military muster, members of the iconic rock act KISS were warmly welcomed at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center on Wednesday.

The band, best known for its overtly theatrical hard rock shows, invited veterans and service members from the Augusta-based Wounded Warrior Projects CSRA program to its Atlanta concert Monday night, and followed up the show with a VA visit Wednesday before jetting to an evening gig in Nashville.

Guitarist Tommy Thayer, drummer Eric Singer and lead singer/guitarist Paul Stanley made the trip. Bass player Gene Simmons was unable to attend. Mr. Stanley, a founding member of the nearly 40-year-old act, was clearly touched by the opportunity to share time with the hospital's staff and patients.

From: Jetaany.org

This fall welcomed the first album in 11 years from American rock legends KISS, and it also saw original member and former lead guitarist Ace Frehley release his first solo album in 20 years, Anomaly, which notched a top 30 debut on the Billboard charts in September. Prior to its launch, the Bronx-born Space Ace talked to JQ.

First question — and I think everyone has been asking this one — why did it take you 20 years to do another solo album?

I've been asking myself that question for a very long time. [laughs] Originally it was supposed to come out before the KISS reunion tour [in 1996]. I was scheduled to record in Europe, but then I was offered the reunion tour and had to cancel those plans to go to Los Angeles to rehearse for the tour. Since then, I've been struggling with trying to make this happen. And — it's done. [laughs]

Congratulations on finally getting it done. As the Japanese say, you must be very tired, right?

We had the pleasure of chatting with Doc McGhee on the way out of the Tampa KISS Alive 35 tour on Wednesday October 21st. My son, Brett (age 14), noticed him standing at the control board and said hello to him on our way by. My son asked him if he would take a picture with him and Doc obliged. He also gave him a signed set list of that nights concert. Thanks for the time and setlist Doc, you made him the happiest teenage KISS fan on the planet that night.

Click to enlarge Giving His Hometown A Halloween KISS
From: Bill France

Radio announcer and mobile DJ, Bill France has been a huge KISS fan all his life. "I started dressing up as Gene in third grade. He's the only member I've ever dressed as." France says it started innocent enough, cardboard, aluminum foil and duct tape. "Family and friends always thought I would grow out of it. I never did and I'm glad I didn't."

When he was asked to host his local town's Halloweenfest celebration on Saturday, Oct. 24th. He said he wanted to use the event to share my love of all things KISS with the hometown crowd. He says some of the smaller kids were confused, some ran and hid but the teens and especially the parents were lovin' it. "I may, in fact, be the only certified KISS nut in my town. I think I was the only person who demanded they come here. But I had a blast bringing KISS to them in my own special way. If a few of those kids go home and download some classic KISS tunes because of it...even the better!"

Next year, France will have some competition when his two year old gets in costume too!

Here are some great photos from the 1st Annual Los Angeles KISS Expo! That took place on Sunday October 18th 2009. KISS army fans gathered from all around for an exciting day of events and tons of KISS merchandise.

LA's gothic Band FIFI LARUE kicked off the EXPO with magic tricks from his coffin and then onto "VENUS ENVY" with lead singer and Book Author Wendy Moore rocked the house!!

But the highlight of the day was when rock guitarist BRUCE KULICK took the stage I felt like I was back in the eighties seeing BRUCE onstage with the kids from the "SCHOOL OF ROCK" Belting out KISS classics like Crazy Nights, Hide Your Heart, Dr. Love... and more, the crowd went wild!

The event closed with the hottest tribute band in the land "PRISS" as they were joined on stage by all the KISS fans dressed in costumes for the finale "Rock and Roll All Night" what a great event I can't wait until next year.

When they finally get around to stuffing Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley into the Rock 'n' Roll Time Capsule, (no doubt manufactured and trademarked by KISS), it will no doubt include much of the highlights from Wednesday night's show at the Forum.

Does anyone use as much dry ice as these guys? Certainly nobody bothers to shoot sparks from a guitar neck anymore. And the blood-spitting and fire-breathing, well, that went out with the Ford administration.

Their two-hour concert, part of the "Alive 35" tour, was like a trip through the wayback machine as the band busted out hits fans hadn't heard in decades.

Vintage KISS Photos 1974-1981 Book
From: KISSmuseum.com

An exciting new release of mostly never before seen photos of KISS from the early years! Just when you thought you've seen everything from KISS in the '70s, an amazing book like this comes along.

We particularly liked the 1974 shots of KISS invading New York's Central Park. They pose with, (or accost), elderly women, harass couples trying to be alone, and terrorize the crowds in general. Also there is an extensive image collection from the 1975 Cadillac Michigan Football game, when KISS was awarded the key to the city. You may think you've seen all the pictures from that event but trust us, you haven't.

A great archive of images for any KISS Collection.

Click to enlarge KISS Rocked Sold Out Coliseum
From: WRAL.com

At the tender age of 14, the first rock concert I attended was a group dubbed "The hottest band in the world." Yep, it was KISS, a four-member band wearing costumes, makeup and high-heeled shoes, with a stage show that included pyrotechnics, fire breathing, blood-spitting, smoking guitars and confetti cannons.

After 35 years, not much has changed. KISS performed for a sold-out audience Friday night at the Hampton Coliseum in Virginia. The crowd was a somewhat strange mixture of very young and very old, and more than a few wearing Kiss makeup and full regalia.

My son is now 18, but I was excited to be able to share this experience with him while reliving a great moment from my childhood. KISS took the smoke-filled stage to Deuce, from their 1974 self-titled debut album KISS. Maybe it was the make-up or the explosions, but the band looked exactly as I remembered them. I had to remind myself that the original members of this band are old enough to be grandfathers.

Some bands should need no introduction. But if KISS needs one, it should the words that have brought the band onto the stage for decades:

"You wanted the best, you got the best!"

Over the course of more than 35 years, KISS has established itself as one of rock's biggest bands. With its iconic makeup and costumes and timeless hits such as "Detroit Rock City," "Rock and Roll All Nite" and "Calling Dr. Love," the band has weathered personnel changes and changing fashions to stay on top.

And this year may be the band's biggest yet. The new album, "Sonic Boom," was released last week through Walmart stores and online, and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard album chart — the group's highest position ever on the chart. And original members Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss have been nominated this year for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

It has been 11 years since their last album, and despite their age — singer and bassist Gene Simmons is 60 years old, while singer/guitarist Paul Stanley is 57 — they are strapping on platform heels, smearing on the makeup and hitting big arenas nationwide for a 47-city tour.

Click to enlarge KISS Back With A Boom; Drummer Has His Say
From: delcotimes.com

Critics who have dismissed modern-day KISS as nothing but a cartoonish merchandising machine take note: you're probably still right. But the band has proven that there is some rock and roll left in the tank, and this week celebrates the highest charting release in its history as "Sonic Boom" landed in the No. 2 slot on the Billboard charts, selling 108,000 copies.

Rock Music Menu caught up with drummer Eric Singer after the grease-painted foursome played an explosive, career spanning set at the Wachovia Center Monday night and talked about what it is that makes the new album so appealing.

"Everyone knew what the task at hand was," Singer said. "We all got on board in the same vehicle heading down the same road and we knew what are destination was."

Singer joined KISS in 1991 initially as temporary substitute for drummer Eric Carr, who was battling heart cancer and subsequently passed away later that year. He played on the 1992 record "Revenge," which, like "Sonic Boom," is seen as a touchstone in the band's catalog and a return to form after many had left them for dead.

The phenomenon that is KISS has never not been in the news since their start more than three decades ago ago — but 2009 appears to be taking the famous quartet to entirely new levels..

Just last week, the band nearly topped the charts with Sonic Boom-their first album in 11 years, featuring 2 CDs and a bonus live DVD, and now available exclusively at Walmart for a mere $12. To use famous KISS terminology, sales have been hotter than hell!.

Even more significant than those sales, however, is the simple fact that the legendary band has spent the past few months celebrating a stunning 35 years in the music business!.

As you can see from these live performances, original band members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley and newer members Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer are taking KISS's much-beloved music to glorious new heights. Shot on April 5th in Buenos Aires, Argentina at River Plate Stadium, the performances show an enraptured audience completely enthralled with such classic KISS tracks as "Deuce," "Hotter Than Hell," and "Rock & Roll All Nite."

From: Billboard.com

Rock legends KISS crash in at the No. 2 position on Billboard's Top 200 with new Wal-Mart-exclusive studio album "Sonic Boom," selling 108,000 copies. It is the band's highest-charting album ever, and the 108,000 opener is its second-best sales week since SoundScan began tracking data in 1991.

KISS' previous chart high came with 1998's "Psycho-Circus," which debuted and peaked at No. 3 when it bowed with 110,000. "Psycho's" opening frame is also the group's best SoundScan sales week.

After only three days of sales, Michael Bublé's "Crazy Love" opens atop the chart with 132,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan, giving the pop singer his second No. 1 album.

Click to enlarge Original KISS Drummer Celebrates Surviving Breast Cancer
From: CNN.com

A year after beating breast cancer, Peter Criss, a founding member of the rock band KISS, calls himself "the luckiest man in the planet."

While some men feel embarrassed because of "this macho crap," Criss said surviving breast cancer -- yes, men get it, too -- was actually a blessing. He was treated before the tumor could spread and said he's speaking about male breast cancer now -- during National Breast Cancer Awareness month -- to raise the profile of this rare disease.

Criss, who played drums for KISS and was known as "Catman," offered this advice to men who spot lumps in their breast: "Don't sit around playing Mr. Tough Guy. Don't say 'It's going to go away.' It might not and you might not see life anymore and how beautiful that is."

The 63-year-old musician is now cancer free.

Click to enlarge KISS Doin' It For The Kids, Literally
From: TimeOutNY.com

KISS frontman Paul Stanley doth — didth? — protest too much. Twice during Nassau Coliseum's Friday night show (a well-oiled rock spectacle), he insisted that his band wasn't going to tell you how to live your life. He wasn't going to tell you to become a vegetarian. He wasn't going to tell you to save the whales or the baby seals. And still, for all of his nontelling — and green spurts of flame and confetti blizzards — KISS was very much insisting on something. You could see it in the preponderance of adorable eight-year-olds in face paint. Or the fact that the band didn't trot out its smutty classics "Cold Gin" or "Strutter." This was KISS as family entertainment. "Look at all the KISS children!" enthused the singer, cameras swiveling on the crowd. There was no swearing. And if Daddy hoisted you up on his shoulders to observe the jackass sashaying on a platform singing "Love Gun" — well, that was what rock stars did, honey.

Touring behind its shockingly okay new LP, Sonic Boom, KISS also reminded anyone who needed it of the resiliency of its act. Even with two original members replaced by dutiful clones (Tommy Thayer on guitar and Eric Singer on drums), the band worked through a two-and-half-hour set with exuberance and panache. And you could actually hear the music, another concession to the youthful crowd; the volume was notably low for the Uniondale venue. But riffage was beside the point. You go to a KISS show for the stunts, like Gene Simmons spitting blood and fire. The crowd roared its approval. The set list was appropriately 1970s-heavy, with numbers like "Parasite" supplanted with video backdrops of swarming amoebas. (Occasionally, a shot of décolletage flashed the audience — you really had to be looking.) Unwittingly, Stanley captured the drawbacks of courting the kiddie crowd: "There's no sitting down at a KISS concert!" Fine, Paul. Can we go home yet?

Click to enlarge Gene Talks Axebass, Album, Tour
From: KISSonline.com

Q: Just one glance at the Gene Simmons AxeBass will make jaws drop. It's sleek; black; beyond cool. How did you create it?

Gene Simmons: "First, I have to take you back about 25 years ago. I noticed that musicians kept calling their guitars their 'axes.' They would say, 'I want to play my axe.' I decided that because of my persona, I'd actually build a guitar that looks like an ax. You just need to take one glance to know that this guitar looks so cool. Who doesn't want to have the coolest looking guitar around? Seek and you shall find; ask and you shall receive. I personally created this guitar, approved the electronics, the body type, the design and even the wood. I even went to the trademark office of the U.S. Government and now own the body type of the guitar and the word AxeBass because my guitar looks like an ax."

Q: CD "Sonic Boom" is your 45th release. It also marks your first KISS CD in over a decade. Does that blow your mind that KISS is still the biggest rock band in the world with old and new fans creating sell-out shows? Your presence is a true phenomenon because you can't get out of Wal-Mart without seeing KISS now either.

Simmons: "It's our 45th release during our 35th year of playing together and releasing albums. We've been touring the world for the last year and now we've come back to the United States. As for our presence, I have 3,000 licensed KISS products — everything from the upcoming KISS scooter to KISS M&Ms and a KISS Mr. Potato Head. We have corners in Wal-Mart where you can buy T-shirts and everything KISS.

Q: Did you ever think you would see your face on Mr. Potato Head?

Click to enlarge KISS, Bublé Battle For #1
From: Billboard.com

This week's Billboard 200 chart will either house a first-ever No. 1 album from iconic band KISS, or pop singer Michael Bublé may crash the group's rockin' party with his new set, "Crazy Love."

Industry sources suggest that KISS' new Wal-Mart exclusive album, "Sonic Boom," may shift somewhere between 160,000 and 180,000 copies in its first week. If the set sells that much, it will also mark the group's best sales week since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data in 1991.

Up against KISS is Bublé, who released his new album on Oct. 9 to capitalize on his appearance that day on the "Oprah Winfrey Show." Bublé's last set -- 2007's "Call Me Irresponsible" -- debuted at No. 2 (with 212,000 copies) before moving to No. 1 the following week.

It's hard to believe that KISS has never reached the top in its long career. All told, the act has notched seven top 10 albums. Its highest charting set is 1998's "Psycho-Circus," which debuted and peaked at No. 3 with 110,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The group's other high-charting sets include 1975's "Alive!" (No. 9), 1977's "Love Gun" (No. 4) and 1992's "Revenge" (No. 6).

We talked about the philosophy behind the new album, his relationship with Gene Simmons, and his political views.

DID YOU RUSH OUT THIS MORNING AND BUY THE NEW BEATLES REMASTERS?

What did I do this morning? I rushed out and took my son to school, that's what I did. I got my 3-year-old, put him in the car with my 15-year-old and drove my 15-year-old to school. So that was dad's morning, and then doing press for the album for Europe.

FOR YEARS AND YEARS, YOU WERE ADAMANT ABOUT NOT DOING A FOLLOW-UP TO "PSYCHO CIRCUS." WHAT CHANGED?

I think the band has become so, so strong live, with the lineup that's been stable for quite a while. I thought we had a great album in us. The only road block was my producing it. I wasn't interested in making another KISS album that was going to be confused, diffused or unfocused. It's very hard to be in the studio with 4 guys who have their own sense of what we should be doing and oftentimes unfortunately in the past we've had situations where people were more concerned with having their songs on the album rather than having the best songs on the album. Or dealing with lawyers when we should have been dealing with band members. It was not productive. There have been times in the past where outside songwriters have been involved, which allows some people to do less work, and perhaps for the band to lose part of its own identity and take on someone else's interpretation of who you are. First and foremost, I had to produce the album and that was agreed to pretty much immediately. Everyone was very gung-ho for that. It was very smooth sailing from there. I started thinking during the big run we did through Europe -- I think we did 30 shows in 7 weeks and played to about 400,000 people -- I began thinking we have a great album in us but somebody has to harness it.

ARE THERE DIPLOMATIC SKILLS INVOLVED IN TELLING GENE TO MOVE OVER SO THAT YOU CAN TAKE CONTROL?

From: The Canadian Press

KISS delivered on its promise to Oshawa, Ont., on Wednesday with a supersized show that spared no flair, flames or facepaint.

Even playing to 6,134 fans within the relatively cozy confines of Oshawa's General Motors Centre, the classic rockers seemed to manage to pull off every extravagant stunt of their reliably over-the-top show.

And they didn't miss an opportunity to pay respect to Oshawa, the town that won the right to the concert by pouring votes into an online contest hosted by KISS.

Click to enlarge Even Without Its Ace KISS Still Rocks 'N' Rolls All Night
From: BostonHerald.com

You wanted the best, you got the best! The hottest band in the land, one half of KISS!

There was neither Ace Frehley nor Peter Criss at the two-thirds-full TD Garden last night, but there were two guys in their makeup on stage (Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer, respectively) and a few dozen more in the audience. But the sober half of KISS — Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons — did a damn good job of pretending the band was unchanged.

Before the show, Simmons boasted to the Herald that this was the largest tour they'd ever done. He was probably lying, but it was hard to tell.

The hits were the backbone of the show. "Deuce," "Hotter Than Hell" and "Black Diamond" — with its hook that could snag Moby Dick — were wicked nice. "Cmon and Love Me" and a sleazy, slutty "She" were brilliant. Even spotlight solos by Thayer and Singer were pretty damn cool (sorry Ace and Peter).

Still rock 'n' rolling all night after 35 years together, KISS just released their 19th studio album, Sonic Boom. Founding members Gene Simmons, 60, and Paul Stanley, 57, open up wide for US.

Q. Do you ever get tired of wearing your stage costumes?

SIMMONS: No, it's our war paint.

Q. Gene, what do your kids [Nick, 20, and Sophie, 17] think of you?

SIMMONS: That their dad's cool! He spits fire and throws up blood.

Q. Taylor Swift dressed up like you guys on stage recently. Thoughts?

Click to enlarge Unleashing The Formidable Sonic Boom
From: Power Play Magazine

It's been a long time since KISS last released an album, the somewhat patchy "Psycho Circus," but they're finally ready to unleash the formidable "Sonic Boom" on the world. Martin Howell had a chat with the Starchild himself, Paul Stanley, to get the lowdown on the album.

I have to admit that I was a little unsure whether or not KISS would be able to return to their former glories. Their last album was a decade ago and whilst it had its moments, it certainly didn't recall their glory years. Then after a "farewell" tour that saw the end of the original line-up, two new guys were drafted in to wear the costumes and make-up. But a few years on the road and the new line-up was settled enough to hit the studio. The resulting "Sonic Boom" will hit an unsuspecting public shortly, and truth be told, it's a bit of a monster, a real return to the glory days of the late 70s.

Paul Stanley, not surprisingly, agrees wholeheartedly. "This was something we felt we had to do; we were on a mission to state who this band is and remove any doubts about what we're capable of. We didn't want to make a retro album, something that would be confused with the 70s albums, but we wanted to capture the essence, the piss 'n' vinegar at the core of KISS. Over the last few years we've toured America, Europe, we've just come back from South America, and we've shown a lot of people what this band is capable of; we're like a finely sharpened knife.

Click to enlarge Gene Simmons: The Billboard KISS Cover
From: Billboard.com

It would be hard to come up with a more prominent rock'n'roll bassist than Gene Simmons of KISS. The KISS co-founder, reality TV star and entrepreneur has his fingerprints on virtually all segments of the music industry. Born Chaim Witz in 1949 in Haifa, Israel, and the only child of a Holocaust survivor, Simmons ignited the KISS explosion in 1972. The band remains a touring, licensing and merchandising powerhouse, and it launched the U.S. leg of the KISS Alive/35 tour Sept. 25 in Detroit. The group released "Sonic Boom," its first album of new material in 11 years, Oct. 6 exclusively through Wal-Mart and Sam's Club.

As was demonstrated last year in his keynote at Billboard's Touring Conference, when Simmons deigns to impart his worldview it's a wild ride, and his Billboard Q&A is definitely no exception. Spiced with a series of nearly unprintable (but admittedly funny) jokes, Simmons offers his unique take on merchandising, branding, professionalism and owning our children.

What is the biggest myth about KISS?

From: KISSasylum.com

Many KISS Fans have emailed KISSasylum.com frustrated about their experiences trying to find the "KISS Korner" displays in many of the Walmart locations that are supposed to have them. Below are a few of their experiences:

George from New Jersey reports: "I stopped by a WalMart today in Linden, NJ to check out the KISS display. It was a bit sad. Wasn't very big of a display. A CD rack and then next to it, the M&Ms, Potato Heads (Although not many Spaceman & Catman heads), T-shirts & blankets. The Halloween stuff was in another section and was just a Gene (The Demon) and Paul (The Starchild) mask - and they only had a Demon wig, there was no Starchild Wig."

"There was still a ton of boxes on a cart in front of the display at noon seemingly indicating that all was not put out yet. But the best part was the section that the new CDs were in (see the photo). Either KISS has changed their musical style drastically or Gene Simmons has suceeded in convincing people that KISS is a religion."

KIDGEO reports: "A lot of the Walmarts that were on the list from KOL as having KISS Korners actually DO NOT!!! I went to three local stores that were on the list and NONE had the Korners or merchandise... and one did not even have the CD!!!"

It's what happens when a band loves its fans, loves being together and loves making great rock and roll...

And we do.

Turn it up!

Click to enlarge Sonic Boom Delivers
From: Examiner.com

When word started circulating last year that KISS was working on its first new album in 11 years, even long-time fans were a bit skeptical. The band's last studio album, 1998's much touted reunion effort, Psycho Circus, recorded (at least on paper) with original members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, had been a disappointment. More recent solo albums by founding members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley had also failed to live up to expectations.

Simmons had Family Jewels, his hit A&E reality television series, and Stanley had his artwork, which had become more profitable than his latest musical endeavors. Stanley and Simmons seemed content to take KISS on the road less frequently. The crowds still came, and classics like "Detroit Rock City," "Shout It Out Loud," and "Rock and Roll All Nite" still brought them to their feet. Ironically, with drummer Eric Singer and lead guitarist Tommy Thayer back and the group, KISS was playing better, tighter, and with more energy than it had in years.

Still the question remained. Why would KISS bother making a new album?

The story that has been told and retold, of the rock band KISS visiting Cadillac in 1975 at the invitation of the Cadillac High School football team, will be retold again, this time by the cable sports network ESPN.

Vikings football coach Jim Webb confirmed Friday that an ESPN crew asked permission to film the homecoming game Friday night. The crew also filmed part of the homecoming parade.

Webb said the players were "pumped" to hear the news that ESPN would be on the sidelines for the game.

"I told the players, in case they needed a little more motivation than homecoming, that some of them might be on national TV," Webb said.

ESPN crews will return to the area in coming weeks to conduct interviews with select individuals who had a part in the event.

KISS haven't gotten any subtler in the 11 years since their last sudio album ("Baby, feel my tower of power!" declares Gene Simmons on "Hot And Cold"). And why should they? There's no denying the pleasingly hook-laden nature of such anthemic rockers as Boom's "Stand" and "Modern Day Delilah," while onetime KISS opening-act guitarist Tommy Thayer makes for an adequate Ace Frehley replacement. This Walmart-only three-disc set — which includes a CD of rerecorded hits and a live DVD — should remind Hall of Fame voters that the recent nominees deserve consideration for far more than just Simmons' fire-breathing abilities. Click to enlarge Gene Simmons Starring In New Christmas Movie
From: Rockstar Weekly

KISS bassist Gene Simmons finished filming The Christmas Movie this summer, which is rumoured to be scheduled for release this November, however, there is no official date released on IMDB or Wonderstar Productions. The family film also stars Elliott Gould, Linda Gray, Lainie Kazan, Cloris Leachman, Della Reese, Oleysa Rulin, Cybill Shepherd, and Fred Willard. It was written and directed by Dan Gordon, who was responsible for screenwriting The Hurricane, starring Denzel Washington.

The Christmas Movie is the story of pregnant young Mary, who's had all the trappings of an upscale life, but it's only when she finds herself in a small New Mexico town, in a downtrodden trailer park, that she learns the real meaning of love, sacrifice and family. From the trailer, which we see Gene at the beginning of, it looks as if he has been cast as a Jewish truck driver and the father of the pregnant young girl.

Click to enlarge KISS Electrifies Air Canada Centre
From: Toronto Sun

Sure, they wanted to rock and roll all night, but KISS short circuited just one song into their Air Canada Centre show Friday night.

After an explosive fire display, the veteran rockers were about half way through their opening song, King Of The Night Time World, when they appeared to lose power causing the audience to boo loudly.

Without an active microphone, singer-guitarist Paul Stanley held up his hands and mouthed that the group, rounded out by bassist Gene Simmons, drummer Eric Singer and lead guitarist Tommy Thayer, would be back "in about five to ten minutes" and they walked off stage.

Shortly thereafter, and with little in the way of further reaction from the KISS army, the quartet returned and Stanley explained what was going on: "There is a problem with the electricity and the power at the ACC, but we have fixed it and we are here to kick your ass," he said.

Click to enlarge Mike Japp: "That Idea Became 'Saint And Sinner'"
From: RockPages.gr

We continue our KISS special feature with the 40th interview of a KISS-related figure. This week, Mike Japp was kind enough to write a few words about his collaboration with KISS. Here's an excerpt:

Mike Japp: A couple of years later Bill Aucoin came knocking on my door (Bill as you know managed KISS back then and we still stay in touch). He asked me to go to a hotel where Paul was staying and go do some writing, I said "Ok" and off I went to meet up with Paul. It was good to see him again and we started exchanging ideas. We worked for about 3 or 4 hours and I left there leaving behind a couple of ideas in completely naked form that have now become known as "Down on your Knees" and "Saint and Sinner".

Gene and I met at SIR for the first time and off we went on a writing spree at Diana Ross's house where Gene was staying for awhile. We wrote many things and had different titles every other day for the same song! We would change things inside out, to outside in; it was a lot of fun though. Paul and I had great fun also in different ways when writing. Gene and I ended up finishing off the idea that I had left with Paul at the hotel on the tape. That idea became "Saint and Sinner" (which of course had a least 3 titles before that).
