KISS star Gene Simmons's daughter Sophie has tweeted her relief after surviving a terrifying four car pile-up.

The 18-year-old was involved in the accident on Thursday afternoon as she was sitting in a traffic jam in Los Angeles.

When the car behind failed to stop, Sophie was pushed forward into the car in front of her - causing the pile-up.

And while Sophie is believed to have been wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident, she hit her head on the steering wheel because the car's airbags didn't deploy, meaning she was taken to hospital to be checked over.

Sophie tweeted a picture of her hospital bracelet and told fans she's fine. However, keen to reassure fans that she was alright, Sophie later tweeted a picture of her hospital wristband and a Victoria's Secret party wristband with the caption: 'Hospital Band and a Victorias Secret Wristband...classy.'

Sophie's mother Shannon Tweed had also tweeted her fans: '4 car pile up today. My daughter in the middle!

'Not a phone call a parent wants!! Sophie's fine. Car's totalled.Not her fault.Frightening.'

But while Sophie's Dodge Charger car was written off in the accident, the teenager maintained a sense of humour.

She later tweeted her followers: 'You are Cordially invited to "Sophie Survived" Night at TRU Nightclub Hollywood!!

'This week I survived being shit on by a guy, breaking my Phone and being in a Four Car pile up.' As well as Sophie reassuring fans she was fine, her father also posted a photograph on his Twitter page yesterday afternoon of the family having lunch together following son Nick's graduation.
