Lines get drawn in the Simmons family in the latest installment of Gene Simmons Family Jewels, as the kids make tough choices about their feelings towards their parents. Always thought of as an indestructible force of rock and roll nature, Gene Simmons shows that he too, is human, on this week's episode of Gene Simmons Family Jewels. A remorse Gene tries to figure out how to make things right with Shannon, his partner of 27 years, through ongoing sessions with a therapist.

After a therapy session gone horribly wrong, Shannon packs a bag and moves out of the family home into an hotel. Gene returns home from a therapist appointment to find a note from Shannon and an empty house. Alone for the first time in his life, Gene is lost and admits to his therapist, Dr. Wexler, that, "I f**ked up! It's really interesting, it doesn't feel like a home, it feels like a house.I paid to have it built, but I didn't make it into a home."

Meanwhile, Shannon visits her sister, Tracey and her children, and reveals what transpired between her and Gene. Said a tearful Shannon, "I have to decide what I want, the kids are cooked and everybody got what they want but me in our marriage." Both Nick and an away-at-college Sophie find out what happened between their parents after Nick returns home to pick up some items and Gene reveals Shannon's moved out. Sophie goes to her mother and they have a heart-to-heart about the situation. Shannon reveals to her daughter about her and Gene's relationship, "People don't hear your personal commitments and understandings." Nick finally confronts his father about his rock and roll lifestyle by saying, "What would you do if a guy hurt your mom?" A confused Gene replied thoughtfully, "I'd confront him and say, 'You can't hurt my mom!'" Walking out of the room, Nick stated, "Something to think about."

In the following episode of Gene Simmons Family Jewels, titled "You always hurt the ones you love," a lonely Gene buries himself in work, while trying to figure out how to win her back and say he's sorry. He deals with control issues, thinking if he gives up control of his life, it makes him weak. Sophie controls a situation that could end up perilous when Gene is left alone in a club with women circling him. Meanwhile, Nick and Sophie bring Mom and Dad together for a special performance in hopes their parent's will reconcile. Gene tells Shannon later that evening, "This is where you belong."

After the show aired, Shannon tweeted, "In the end, I belong with my family. It is a work in progress, but we are trying."
