Each week we’ll pick an artist of the week. Throughout that week, we’ll dig up a little info on the artist, link to a song, embed a video, something. This week: Motley Crue and KISS, who play the Sleep Country Amphitheater on Sunday night.
There isn’t one thing I can write about Sunday’s Motley Crue/KISS show that isn’t said better by this radio ad. This wonderful, perfect, ripped-from-20-years-ago, let’s-all-go-to-the-monster-truck-rally gem of a commercial.I doubt that I earn any cool points by being glad that Motley Crue and KISS are still out there roaming the highways with semis full of unnecessarily loud audio equipment and illegal fireworks. But I’m glad they’re doing that.I’m especially glad that by doing that, radio ads like this can be created. That this guy, this avatar for the 12-year-old id continues to grace our airwaves is, to quote Tommy Lee, “awesome, bro.”
(I don’t know that Tommy Lee has said that ever, but as the eternal president of Delta House, he seems like he would. Ok? Cool? Let’s do shots.)
