I just love and hate this one at the same time. Love it because it really shows that Kiss still can surprise and evolve. (not sure how to spell the last word.) At the same time Iīm really sad that they couldnīt go on with Eric and Bruce in the band. CoS really shows that Revenge wasnīt a lucky shot. This is the best Kiss line-up since the original. Well, we just have to wait and see what the new album will sound like....

Hate - A real heavy song from Gene but somehow not so enjoyable as Unholy wich I think is Geneīs best song ever. Well still itīs an excellent start for a record. Iīm probably one of the few who doesnīt think so highly about this one. (6)

Rain - Woa, Alice in chains? No, Kiss! Not what I would expect Paul to sing but he pulls it off really well. A good song but not really among the best...(5)

Master & Slave - Donīt have much to say about this one really... Good vocals from Paul and a "catchy" chorus. Probably would have been perfect to get the audience to sing on if it had ever been played at concerts.(7)

Childhoodīs end - One of my personal favourites and this time Iīm surprised that Gene is doing it. Itīs more of a Paul-song. Almost a little country-styled... Great chorus, especially when the choir comes in at the end.(9)

I will be there - My other favourite. Many people donīt like the greasy ballads Paul has done during the eighties, but this oneīs different. It proves that he can write an excellent "serious" ballad. Not just the usual love-bullshit. Really love the solo on this one and the strings really gives it a bigger "feel". The Chorus makes me think of Bon Jovis Wanted dead or alive.(9)

Jungle - When this one reaches the chorus I can really feel the energy and intensity from Paulīs voice. A heavy song and perhaps one of Pauls darkest songs since Creatures... Not much of a solo from Bruce but itīs enough to keep the song interesting all the way.(7)

In my head - No, not very good. I want to have a song thrown at me "right between my eyes", and this one doesnīt relly do the trick. A typical Gene-song I would say. But not in my taste...(3)

It never goes away - Paul surprises me again. The chorus again!!! Maybe itīs to slow in between but the echo of Pauls voice and the anger you can hear during the chorus really makes up for it.(6)

Seduction of the innocent - Well, seems Gene doesnīt like priests and saints. (Well that wasnīt new). Cool "india-sound". But a bit to uneven for my taste. Gets the lowest score along with "In my head".(3)

I confess - Strange intro but it relly makes you listen to the lyrics, and they are among the best on this record. A short but real good solo from Bruce on this one.(7)

In the mirror - Great drumming from Eric here who Iīve always thought is the best drummer in Kiss. Apart from that itīs Paul doing what heīs good at. Simple rockīn roll but perhaps not so strong chorus but still a pretty good song.(6)

I walk alone - Bruceīs debut as a singer. Rating? Itīs ok, nothing more - nothing less. He needs a little more practise but heīs doing good so far. Reminds me very much of a young Ace Frehley. They both have the same low voice that canīt handle the higher notes, even if Ace got better at it during the late eighties. (see Trouble walking). A good song overall but it takes a little time to get into it. Very good solos from Bruce makes this an OK-song.(6)

Well, overall itīs an awesome record but when the first excitement is gone there are 5-6 seven songs and a new heavy sound left. Definitely the right step for the "old" Kiss to take and itīs said that we wonīt get a follow-up to this one. Donīt think Ace and definitely not Peter is going to write anything near this. But Iīm glad they released it and i will continue to play it every now and then and dream of what could have been.
