Starfuckers, Inc.
From: KISS Asylum
There's something interesting in liner notes of "The Fragile," the new Nine Inch Nails album. Under the credits for the song, "Starfuckers, Inc.", it says, "contains elements of 'shout it out loud' performed by kiss used courtesy of mercury records under license from universal special markets inc." This is the only song on the album that used clips of another song. I'm not sure where these elements are. What is interesting about "Starfuckers, Inc." is that in 4 of the lines, Trent spliced together words recorded separately. They sound like what one might hear on a company's automated telephone menu system. Yet the KISS "elements" don't seem to present at that point. The song is one of a few on the album which attack Trent's ex-friend and ex-protege, Marilyn Manson. BTW, "Into The Void" seems a popular song title for rock groups. Black Sabbath has a track of that title. KISS has a track of that title on Psycho Circus. And now track two of disc two of "The Fragile" has that title as well.
New Peter Criss Fan Website: Catseyes.net
From: Colleen Songy
We just wanted to tell everyone about our new site dedicated to Peter Criss called Catseyes. Catseyes is a site for Peter and all his fans to explore his music before and after KISS. It also has new never before seen screen savers and wall paper, rare audio files from different years and the songs from Chelsea. The greatest thing about Catseyes is that I made a section called "Blue Moon Over Brooklyn" dedicated to his mother and thanking her for being a part of his musician influence. Also I'm asking all Peter Criss fans to sign the page and add their feeling to this page. It's to let Peter know his mother is not forgotten and she is missed by all his fans. So come by and check the site and don't forget to sign the Blue Moon Over Brooklyn page. Click over to www.catseyes.net

KISS Just Says No!
From: AngelOfAce@aol.com
KISS have teamed up with the Partnership for a Drug Free America. In new advertisements, the Partnership for a Drug Free America compares the $110 billion which drug use costs the United States with how much it would cost for KISS to play free in every major city in America. Guess what? It would cost $110 billion. Paul Stanley says, "When you start fooling around with drugs, you're hurting your creativity, you're hurting your health. Drugs are death, in one form or another. If they don't kill you, they kill your soul. And if your soul's dead, you've got nothing to offer, anyway."

Bruce Kulick Interviewed By Metal Sludge
From: KISS ASYLUM
Bruce Kulick recently did a 20 Questions written interview with the infamous Metal Sludge website. For those who aren't familiar with the Metal Sludge interviews, the questions asked tend to be a bit tongue-in-cheek. Bruce was a great sport with his answers to some rather "unique" questions, so

I look for me in women!"

From: UNION Asylum
It has previously been reported elsewhere online that UNION would be appearing on a Guns 'n Roses tribute CD to be released September 28, 1999, performing the track "Rocket Queen." Fan Feedback - "KISS & Outside Projects"
From: KISS ASYLUM
Ever since the end of the Psycho Circus tour earlier this year members of KISS have begun to pursue other individual outside projects. Gene has taken an interest in movies, Paul is continuing his role as "Phantom of the Opera" and Ace Frehley, according to Metal Edge Online, has been working on a solo album and is fielding label interest. Even when KISS performs as a unit they seem to be doing more projects outside the straight rock relm, such as their recent ties with professional wrestling's WCW. In our last poll we asked the online fans if it was a good idea for KISS to be involved with WCW, and the majority voted a resounding "No!" The poll break down is as follows: No 72.5% (914 Votes); Yes 19.2% (243 Votes); Not sure 8.1% (103 Votes)
This week we look at KISS and their outside projects and ask the online fans "Is doing outside projects a good thing for KISS?" Some may say that doing these outside projects gives each member some breathing room and a chance to pursure other interests further strengthing their creative juices. Others may think that these outside projects are detrimental to the band and risk tearing them appart. KISS ASYLUM wants to know what YOU think! Click over to www.kissasylum.com/poll2/ to cast your vote and make your opinion heard. Also, don't forget to post up your comments about "KISS' outside projects and their effect on the band" at KISS ASYLUM's KISS Army Online bulletin board at www.kissasylum.com/bbs/

"Somebody's Waiting" Eric Carr Song Review
From: Byron Fogle
I had a very nice treat the other day. I was privileged to hear 'Somebody's Waiting" from the upcoming release Rockology from Eric Carr thanks to the producers of the CD. People I gotta tell you I was blown away by it. The chord changes are classic KISS sound, it's heavy in the vein of "I Still Love You," and the chorus "Somebody's waiting for you" makes me sad to think as if God was singing that to say he was waiting for Eric. But it's really about finding love and somebody being out there waiting for you to find them and fall in love. The lyrics are so emotionally charged, with the lethal combination of Eric's vocal delivery and easily the best drumming Eric has ever done with any band on any record. It makes you wonder why this didn't appear on "Hot In the Shade" & why Gene & Paul held Eric back and never used any of his songs except "Little Caesar." I can't wait to hear the rest of the CD. I thought the "Rockheads" was a treat, well it turns out that was just an appetizer, this disc of unreleased material will be the main course and the video "Tale Of The Fox" will be dessert. Thanks to Bruce Kulick, Adam Mitchell, Eric's family, ThoughtScape and Jack Sawyers we the fans of Eric have been treated to a great Fox dinner from Little Caesar's (I had to throw in a little pun)! =)

"WWH" KAOL Soundtrack Samples
From: Kathy Labonte
CHAPTER 6 - I WANT YOU"You can run, you can hide, but you'll never get away"
Chapter 6 finds the band uneasily discovering their newfound powers after a show.
Recently being given the Talismans in a previous chapter, the band begins to draw
upon their strange and unknown effects backstage in the dressing room and on into the night. Not sure what they are or if they even want them, they begin to see that they don't have much of a choice in the matter. Hear the 60 second clip of "I WANT YOU" in either MP3 or .wav format at: www.musicareonline.org Familiar musicians to KAOL, this chapter is performed by the KRK project. The musical trio was put together specifically to perform for the Soundtrack and consists of 2 members from the KAOL band LITHIUM who can be found on both the Music From The Folder '99 and Creatures of The Net discs. If you like the song samples you are hearing and are interested in Dale Sherman's novel, get your name on the list now to reserve your copy. All KISS fans who are KAOL supporters and help contribute to raising money for the Children's Hospital with their purchase will have their names printed inside of Dale's book just before it goes to press. It Took A Natural Disaster.....
From: KISS ASYLUM
Well everyone, after 4 years of "KISS News Around The Clock" it finally took a natural disaster to keep KISS ASYLUM from updating! LOL!! KISS ASYLUM is based in Savannah, Georgia, which was projected to be in the path of Hurricane Floyd. Between mass evacuation and then a period without power we were unable to update the page for about 2 and 1/2 days, but we're back full strength now. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those further up the East Coast who ended up feeling the effects of Floyd worse than we did here in Georgia.

KISS' October 29th Las Vegas Appearance News
From: Metal Edge Online
The Metal Wire has reported that KISS' Oct. 29 Las Vegas appearance will not be a full concert but will be part of a holiday parade, and the band will perform just four songs. The Detroit Rock City movie, a box office failure that has to date only made slightly over $4 million, will likely do better when it's released on DVD and VHS on December 21.
KISS & WCW - Your Thoughts
From: KISS ASYLUM
"Detroit Rock City" has come and gone in many theaters across the country. While it appeared most KISS fans loved the movie (results from a previous poll), it seems like the general public did not. Our last poll seemed to bare this out. In our last poll we asked the online fans why they thought the movie did so poorly at the box office. From the over 2000 votes tallied it appears your opinion favored the reason as being that the general public just did not care for the movie, only KISS fans went to see it. The breakdown is as follows: Only KISS fans went versus the non-KISS fan/general public 39.5% (850 Votes); Not enough promotion (ie, actors were not guests on talk shows) 22.7% (490 Votes); Movie was just not that good 13.6% (294 Votes); Anti-KISS sentiment 9.9% (213 Votes); Movie came out at the wrong time 7.6% (165 Votes); Poor reviews from critics
6.4% (139 Votes)
It seems as of late KISS has been very involved with professional wrestling's WCW. They appeared and played on WCW Nitro a few weeks back, and even have a KISS wrestler, "The Demon." Now there is talk of a possible KISS/WCW New Year's Eve pay-per-view event. This week KISS ASYLUM asks the online fans "Is it a good idea for KISS to be involved with professional wrestling's WCW"? Click over to www.kissasylum.com/poll2/ to cast your vote and make your opinion heard. Also, don't forget to post up your comments about KISS' involvement with WCW at KISS ASYLUM's KISS Army Online bulletin board at www.kissasylum.com/bbs/

Bruce Kulick Attends 1999 Cleveland KISS Expo
From: UNIONJAN@aol.com
UNION guitarist, Bruce Kulick, was the special guest at the 1999 Cleveland KISS Expo on Sunday, August 29th. Bruce fielded questions from KISS fans during a 45- minute Q & A session, then later met with fans, posed for photos, and signed autographs. When asked to mention some of his current career activities, Bruce replied, "It's a very busy time in my life... it's been exciting!". He spoke about the new UNION album being finished and confirmed its January/February release. "(Producer) Bob Marlette is a very talented guy. He really kicked our ass!,"said Bruce. "As for myself, my guitar work is very REVENGE/UNHOLY-like... so if you like that kind of era of my guitar playing, you'll hear a lot of that style on there. It's very varied. And there's a song that I sing... finally I sing a song on a UNION album that's not just a bonus track... for Eric Carr called DEAR FRIEND. It's a really cool tune." Bruce admitted he was very excited about the new album, but explained that it was still too soon to really talk about it in length.
