Uniform Design for the KISS Tribute Nite At The Ballpark!
Hello my name is Pat Filippone and I am the Vice President/General Manager of the Prince William Cannons, a Carolina League Affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. A minor league baseball team.

The unique Kiss event I am talking about is a theme/tribute night to my favorite band Kiss. Right now the working title is The Prince William Cannons Rock And Roll All Nite - A Tribute To The Rock Band Kiss. The event will be held Friday July 24, 1998 at 7:30 PM (the gates open at 6pm and the KISS tribute band "Mr. Speed begins playing at 6:10pm) and DC 101 is the sponsor of the night. They are the biggest rock station in the DC area and have promised to commit 100% to pumping the event.

Special Guest Appearance by Bruce Kulick!
The big news is that Bruce Kulick will be at the game to perform the National Anthem prior to the game! I am pumped about this as it will make the event even more special. Bruce will sign autographs and have UNION merchandise for sale, and he will also be interviewed on DC 101 prior to the game. I am also going to try to arrange other press interviews for him.

Activities scheduled so far are the following:

  • The name of our stadium will be changed to "Black Diamond" for this event.
  • Our players will wear unique uniforms that will pay homage to Kiss. Artwork is displayed above.
  • The game will be played with a special KISS baseball.
  • Bruce Kulick will perform the National Anthem.

  • Kiss music will be played throughout the game. No other music will be played.
  • Kiss video clips will be shown on our video scoreboard.
  • Kiss costume contests will be held.
  • All females named Beth will receive $1.00 off admission.
  • All 16 year old females named Christine will receive $2.00 off admission.
  • We will have Kiss trivia questions throughout the game. Kiss merchandise will be handed out as prizes.
  • Special Prince William Cannons merchandise in the Kiss theme.
  • Game worn jerseys will be auctioned off at the game.
  • A 15 minute explosive post game fireworks show will wrap up the evening. The show will be accompanied by Kiss tunes of course.

    Contests:

  • 2,000 Fan - The 2,000th fan into the gates will receive a Kiss/Cannons prize.
  • Travel The Farthest - The Kiss fan that has traveled the farthest to attend the game will win a Kiss/Cannons prize. We have already sold tickets to fans from Florida, & Tennessee!
  • Longest Tongue -- fan with the longest tongue wins a prize

    KISS Tribute Band to Play!
    The Kiss tribute band, "Mr. Speed" will play 1 hour prior to the game during our happy hour. We would then have the band throw out the ceremonial first pitch. I heard from an old time KISS fan about a promotion that they did on their first tour. We are going to take this gimmick one step further and make a special in between innings break for everybody. Mr. Speed will assist us with this.

    We would also like to have Kiss vendors displaying their wares on our concourse during the game.

    How You Can Help!
  • Fireworks Show - During our 15 minute fireworks show we will have Kiss music accompanying the display. I would like to receive some "mix tapes" to provide the music. For the person that sends the best tape we will send them a Kiss/Cannons gift. Tapes will not be returned.
    Note: As of right now (July 4th) I have not received any mix tapes for the fireworks show and I am still looking for a special 15 minute tape to play as opposed to just playing an album.
  • Video Displays - We have a video scoreboard that plays VHS Tapes. We will have 8 breaks with a duration of 1 minute 45 seconds per break that I would like to play unique videos. For the person that sends the best tape we will send them a Kiss/Cannons gift. Tapes will not be returned.
    Note: As of right now (July 4th) I have received a few video tapes but would like to get more if possible.
  • Kiss Decorations - We would like to decorate our concourse area in a Kiss decor. We are looking for ideas and or items to do this with. Please e-mail us with ideas.

    Obviously I would love to sell out our 6,000 seat stadium with Kiss fans. We play in Woodbridge, VA - 20 miles south of Washington DC.     I have invited Kiss via Creative Artists Agency but have not heard from them, and there will be a bunch of other items, contests, and events planned -- I just want to suprise everybody!! Thanks for all the input, suggestions, ideas from the Kiss Asylum community, it has been a huge help!
