Tod Howarth will be live with his new band for the first time Saturday June 6, 1998 at Brick by Brick in San Diego, CA. Tod's new band is called "Cobalt Parlor" for now and may be renamed later. It was earlier reported that the band would be called "Feedback" however Tod decided against that name. "Cobalt Parlor" has been hard at work rehearsing in hopes of touring later this year depending on the response they receive playing dates locally. The local music scene magazine in San Diego "Slamm" gave Tod's latest CD a great review saying "Cobalt Parlor is fresh and original from start to finish. There's a simple explanation for the improvement - Howarth blends the best of the past, present and future with first-person lyrical ruminations about a rough year that included the death of loved ones and the break up of a serious relationship."
So how does the band sound? Tod reports the band is "Slammin" and mentioned when performing the "California Burns" track live from the "Cobalt Parlor" CD it is dead on with the recorded version (it should be noted that the CD features Tod on all instruments and vocals). "Cobalt Parlor" is the second solo CD by Tod (his first was titled "Silhouette"), his career has included playing in several bands including "707", Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick, Frehley's Comet and contributed a track to the Ace Frehley Tribute CD "Return Of The Comet".
There are several bands scheduled to perform at Brick By Brick "Cobalt Parlor's" set should begin at 10:00 P.M. and run until 10:45 P.M. The set list should include material from both solo CD's and from Frehley's Comet. Cover Charge is $10.00 and the Cobalt Parlor CD will be available for sale at the show.
