Brum Beat Psycho Circus Review

KISS Psycho Circus
In which Kiss take on the human condition, aurally dissecting society's ills and solving hidden mysteries of the universe, the meaning of life. Of course none of this is true, totally. Still, Psycho Circus is far more than many could have expected. The re-union of this fab four may have been little more than money-generated, milking the nostalgia cash cow but it has proved to be resurrection, a re-generation of a rock giant.
From the off it's clear that this is re-birth, the title track a stonking slab of euphoric metal, possible their best opening since "Destroyer", whilst the ludicrously titled "I Pledge Allegiance To The State Of Rock N Roll" is this album's footstompinganthem, it's Shout It Out Loud or Rock N Roll All Nite.
Honours are shared throughout with Paul Stanley confirming his status as metal maestro, even the Frehley song and the obligatory Peter Criss ballad (admittedly written by Stanley) are far from fillers. PC is the revelation, the album Kiss fans have waited almost two decades for. If only all wrinkled rockers could be this great by applying a little make-up.
