First off let me say this may be a little bias , concidering I think KISS just plainly kicks ass. Also I'm glad to see they set aside all the BS that happened a long time ago and gave rock and roll what it has needed for a long time...a major kick in the ass!! On with the review.
The title song is probably the best possible choice to open a show with that I have ever heard. I mean the opening is wild, the song itself gets you pumped up from the getgo. It also shows that KISS didn't try to relive the 70's musically, but that they had all four grown as musicians. This album is the best KISS album to date, and I've got everything they have every put out.
This album really shows off their writing ability. Although I was disappointed to see that they didn't collaborate, the writing still is solid.
All of the songs kick on this album. KISS has not only given us a new album, they have given us a new reason to enjoy rock and roll again. In a time when every band is trying to sound as if life has nothing to offer, KISS came out and quite loudly stated the opposite.
In closing, for all the fans that remember the first time around, hold on cause this ride seems like it's gonna turn it up a notch or three. And for the new fans or ones who just discovered KISS, welcome to our PSYCHO CIRCUS. If this is a sign of things to come, just think how the year 2000 is gonna come in with KISS leading the charge. To borrow a quote from Gene Simmons, " It's time we show all these little bands out there how the big boys do it."
Keep on rockin' and wave the banner proudly. And they said we wouldn't last!!! Again and again wwe prove them wrong.
