We got to the arena about 30 minutes before show time - the place was jammed! Painted Kiss faces everywhere - and of course, the "Strange One's" were out in groves as well.
The opening act wasn't bad - I could actually sit and tap my foot to the sound. I remember the reunion tour opening act had me pulling my hair out. Then the time came - finally! We wanted the best, and we got the best - it was KISS! In all their splender! Opened with Psycho Circus as reported. All the usual effects were in there - plus something I'd never seen in person at a Kiss show before - a confette bomb into the crowd. The 3-D was good - it didn't knock me out but it was ok. More smoke and fireworks than the reunion tour. Gene's God of Thunder set went great, as well as Paul's venture out into the crowd. What impressed me the most was Peter's playing - he was right on all night long with the exception of one tweeker in the solo. Strong, solid playing! And his vocals sounded awesome. He was a fresh package for sure. Ace sounded great - a bit off on Into The Void but damn, it was only their 3rd or 4th show. We should do so good - especially at their ages. Hell, I'm one step away from Ben-gay now and I'm only 32. I was surprised that Ace played his solo NOT in the usual "Shock Me" but rather on "Into The Void". I guess change is good. They did " I Was Made For Lovin' You" and it was OK - not great, but it was nice hearing it live. I'd never been to a show where they've played it. Best Song: Black Diamond Worst Song: Into The Void (Not Tight Yet) It's a fabulous show - you're all going to enjoy the hell out of it.
