The Detroit New Years Eve Show: in three words! OH MY GOD! Last nights KISS concert here in Detroit was the Best night of my life! Not only was it louder than any concert to my memory but the performance was great. There was a lot of Pyro-effects, and the 3-D effects were actually better than I imagined The bass in Peter's Drums would put any 'RAP' or R&B album to shame. Peters drumming was the best! Only one small "boo-boo", and that was during 'Let me Go, Rock and Roll', if I heard right, Gene forgot some of the words. I noticed last night Gene really likes to lick on Ace's face, YUCK! he was really cracking me up during 'Cold Gin' My wife and I were in Section 'D', Row '9', Seats '11' & '12'. That meant we got to see Paul Stanley up close!!!! I got Amanda, my wife on my shoulders (she was the only one in that area that was up that high) and we made our way up against the Rail that surrounded Paul's Platform in front of the Sound/mixer booth. My wife was LITERALLY 4 fucking FEET from Paul, We were so close we could see the zit on his back (sorry Paul, we all get them LOL). That was cool. Paul actually jumped off the Platform on the the main floor, I thought he would never make it back up. Aces guitar solo was kinda spaced out, I guess thats why he the "Spaced Ace", after his guitar flew slowly up into the air, he reappeared on the left side of the stage, and asked: "What was that?" cool as hell! Peter's singing during Beth was great, but the recording of the Music sounded wore out. I thought 'Within' sounded great! Besides 'God of Thunder', 'Within' sound pretty HEAVY. And 'God of Thundert' was the highlight of my night, of course until Paul flew over us. I noticed that they played 'God of Thunder' a little slower than usual, but I think it was better that way. I don't remember seeing Dick Clark on the screen, and Iwas sober all night, but I did not miss him. Towards the end of the night, there was a lot of confetty I had to grab as much as I could as much as I could for an extra keep sake. I have two shirts, one with a naked woman on the back and the other was a lot like the shirts from the other concert. I also got the program, that is full of color but not I expected. But the Show was every thing I expected and more!!! And last night people had a lot of laser pointers, but I guess no one shined them at the band members.
As my mind get back into shape I will remember to write more details!!! I am just too pumped right now!!!!
