Hi hereīs my tour reviews of the 4 shows in Sweden 1999
Stockholm Globe arena 2 Mars 1999
Of all the concerts in Sweden this was the least interesting. It was almost 2 years since I last saw them and sure they played ok and it was nice to hear the new songs live, but.. It was just that nothing out of the ordinary happend. It was just one of all those shows KISS play in a year. This is good if this was your first show but it gets boring if youīve seen a few.
I got to say that Peter plays better this time than on the reunion tour.
Gene got to get more in to his character, now he just fools around and acts silly. Itīs only on "Firehouse" & "God of thunder" that you see the mean, evil Gene. Geneīs boots really looks bad when you see them closely. It doesnīt look like metal, more like rubber.
The shows in Sweden taught me two things about Ace that I really didnīt need to know. Now donīt get me wrong, Ace is and has always been my favourite KISS member, but for the moment he looks like he is 9 month pregnant and this affects his showmanship. Maybe his new wife can cook?? The second thing is: ACE, PLEASE USE SOME UNDERWEAR!!!! His dick is hanging down his leg and you can clearly see that heīs circumcised. Sure Iīm upfront because I want to see details but not that kind. That is to much information for me!!
In all, good show but nothing like the shows in Gothenburg.

This show was slightly better than the day before. Kiss was having more fun and they were acting out more. Overall I got to say the same as I did in my review of the first Stockholm show, Good show but nothing spectacular.
Yeah, one funny thing happend. Ace guitar for "Rock and roll all nite" didnīt work properly, so he switched during the song. He used it and the spinning fireworks on "Black diamond" instead.
Before the show I went to the KISS convention and met Bruce. During the interview Bruce gave away some information about the "PC" CD. It is Bruce playing the backwards guitar parts on "Within". KISS used the part from the demo of the version that was recorded for the "CoS" CD. By the way, Bruce saw at least both shows in Stockholm and the second in Gothenburg.

Now this was a great SHOW!!!! It been a while since KISS surpriced me on a show. They have been like slaves to their concert schedule for a long time and god (read Gene & Paul) forbid any member to deviate from the schedule.
There I was in the frontrow and the announcer said his "You wanted" and KISS suddenly took us to "DETROIT ROCK CITY". Itīs been ages, except for "Tiger Stadium" 1996, since they opened with "DRC". I have no clue to why they did this. This show was the last to go on sale in Sweden and the one that didnīt sell out. Why do something special this night? Beats me. I do know that this was something that was decided just before the opening band, becauce a friend heard the information go out to the roadcrew. That this was a late change was evident during "I was made" (which was played as the second song from the end) when the 3D effects for "DRC" came on the screen. It was bizarre to hear them sing about love and on the screen see the car crash. It sure gave me a laugh.
Except for these changes to the playlist they stuck to the standard set. The pyro guys had some extra bombs this evening. It was a lot of bombs on "King of the"!!!!! Strange, but cool!
Ace costume was damaged this show. Already at the start of the show was the silver part that goes over his shoulder loose on one side on the front and the other was secured with tape!? But this didnīt stop Ace from having fun. During his solo he fired all three of his rockets!!!! Yeah, he even fired his spare rocket!! During Aces solo a woman came inte the photopit and watched him. She also sat on his side all the Sweden shows and Ace threw a lot of plectrums her way. I met her in a store the day after this show and talked to her. She was very nice and her name is Valerie Frehley! She said that he and Ace married each other 7 month ago. This was news to me. She looked good and was very friendly, so I think Ace struck gold this time.
On this show you really could see that these four guys have fun on this tour. Everybody played really good and they were showing of a lot. Musically this was the best show in Sweden.
This is one of the best shows Iīve seen with KISS ever. (20 and counting)
Gothenburg Scandinavium 5 March 1999
Now this was a weird SHOW! It was back to the standard set list. The show was like a good standard show up until "Cold gin" when all hell broke loose, or should I say all fools broke loose. On all of the Swedish shows various members of the group once in a while said "Go, Gene, go". What this meant, I donīt know. On this night, Gene went!! He started a boxingmatch with his microphone and he hit it a couple of times and he sent the mic flying. He got some weird looks from the rest of the band, but he looked satisfied. After this he chased Ace around so he could pinch him in the ass. On "Cold gin" they blew a lot of bombs. I wonder if they ever used bombs on "Cold gin" before.
When they started playing "I was made" Peter wasnīt ready, and they stopped completly after just a couple of seconds. Paul & Ace laughed but Gene turned to Peter and with gestures he told him to get off stage. Then Paul tried halfheartedly & with a big smile to explain that they wasnīt sure we wanted to hear the song & that this was the reason they stopped. During this Gene filled his mouth with water which he sprayed over Pauls chest and guitar. During the song Paul didnīt sing the chorouses, instead he chased Gene around the stage with water in his mouth. He didnīt succeed in getting Gene wet. His revenge was to come later.
On "RnRAN" Gene had to stay at the microphone and sing. Paul got his mouthful of water and slowly went over to Gene and sprayed him in the face!! This was fun!!!!
Even Peter tried to have his bit of fun. When he counted in "Black diamond" he didnīt do the usual "12.3....4hit it", instead he changed it to "1....2.1..2..3..4.. hit it. Paul didnīt like this and gave him a sour look.
