WOW!!! What a show. Kiss surely have outdone everything they have come up with in the past with the "Psycho Circus" show. If the rest of the tour is anything like last night at Dodger Stadium then all KISS fans will be in for a truly special night.
Just the thought of keeping a paying fan entertained during the low parts of a concert, before and after the support act, have to be saluted. KISS and Doc have come up with I great idea; give the people their moneys worth...non-stop action from when I walked into the stadium ( the circus acts) until I reached my car after the gig (a HUGE fireworks display that lasted at least 15-20 min.) RIGHT ON GUYS (I'm a proud fan).
As for the show; COOL stuff. 2 big KISS logo's just (like the reunion tour one) on stage right and left w/ a 20-30 foot screen right behind the drum kit. Paul flew over the audience to a platform behind the soundboard to sing "Love Gun". Fireworks and flashpots galore...w/ an awesome red flame effect that blew up throughout the stage during 100,000 years. Gene starting 100,000 years and noticing that the lighting guy was blowing it, stopped, walked over to the mic and said "f**kin' spotlight"...Peter's drum kit levitating for his solo and the finale without the lift under his platform but his kit being lifted up by thin chains from the lighting rig so that it looked like it was really flying, very cool. Ace blew up his guitar again but had a problem w/ the effect but cracked a joke afterward and made himself laugh (with only the laugh that Ace Frehley makes). Cool set list. She, 100k yrs, Dr. Love,P.C....Nuff said. The band looked like they were having fun onstage. They looked relaxed and confident even though it was a high profile gig, on TV, and it was kinda cold in LA (Paul even mentioned the temp. and said his nipples were hard). Another thing I noticed that I had never seen before was that during Detroit when Gene faces Ace at the front of the stage during the solo Gene was licking Ace's neck! Everybody else noticed it too because it was shown on the big screens and it got an instant reaction from the crowd.
The only thing else I can say is this show HAS to be seen. If you don't like PC or if you haven't been into the "reunion" thing...lighten up. Go to the show and have a good time. This type of show is something that needs to be in popular music in this day and age. It's a full frontal assault on boredom and depression (I noticed this when I had seen the faces of the guys in the band and the people around me during the show and I compared it to the times that I had seen Nirvana) Non-stop FUN! See you at the gig..(and GO Raiders).
