Psycho Circus Tour Reviews

From: Chris Stompanato

Milwaukee was the last show before KISS takes a short holiday break. It was also Peter's birthday, and the crowd serenaded him with the obligatory "Happy Birthday." All in all, though, that was about it for crowd participation. Very lame crowd and lots of empty seats in the balcony. There really is a lot to be said about a crowd's performance during a concert. The band feeds off the audience, but KISS would go hungry on this night.

Despite the crowd, I felt they gave a very spirited performance. The music was very tight and unlike Rockford a couple nights prior, the effects went off smoothly. The strange thing was Gene did not fly. The platform was setup for it, but they didn't even attempt it (Gene wasn't even hooked up to do it).

KISS is a big believer that more is better. Tons of confetti during RARAN and an unreal arsenal of bombs to end the show during "Black Diamond." I would like to see some set list changes and some different things done with the 3-D. I think it works well, but some of the same stuff is repeated. The car/truck crash during DRC is cool but could be that much better if the truck bears right down in your face using the 3-D effects.

I left happy, but I'm really looking forward to the upcoming show in my hometown, Chicago. We have to show KISS what rowdy is all about.
