One thing you cannot argue with is the fact that KISS puts on the greatest arena show around. It is a total show. Great songs, effects, crowd participation, and a sense of being a part of the rock'n'roll. With that said, I thoroughly enjoyed the Minneapolis show. It didn't move me the way the reunion tour did, simply because I wasn't waiting another 20 years to see the boys in full make up. However, they have definitely become a much tighter unit for the Psycho Circus run. Each guys "spotlight moment" seemed to come across much better on this tour after having a couple years on the reunion tour to get into a groove. The crowd seemed to be going out of their minds! Better than many of the shows I saw on Alive/Worldwide. It seemed as though there were many fans who had not seen the reunion tour and were experiencing the same emotions I felt standing in Tiger Stadium a could years ago and witnessing the greatness that is the original KISS!
I could have actually done without "Within". It didn't seem to fit the vibe of the show, although "Psycho Circus" and "Into The Void" seemed to work. I was surprised they did not do "You Wanted The Best". I thought that with the great interaction between the guys on this tour that they would pull out this new song that features all four members? It would have been cool to see an oddball older song thrown in like "Get Away" or "Ladies Room", but the classics like "100,000 Years", "Black Diamond", and "Deuce" were all there. Again, these guys remind the world that rock music is supposed to be fun. Going to a concert shouldn't be a drag, it should be an event.
Oh yeah, the 3D thing was pretty lame and they ran out of glasses due to the fact that they were not being handed out. They were sitting out in boxes and people were grabbing handfuls of them! I say skip the 3D. This tour doesn't need it.
