Psycho Circus Tour Reviews

From: Patrice Beaudette

First off, let me say that the show was i expected.... GREAT! It was my third Kiss concert, so, not quite a virgin anymore. I saw them on "Creatures of the night" tour, but it wasn't real good since Ace and Peter weren't there at that point. I saw them last year for the reunion tour and this was awesome. I've been waiting almost 20 years for that one. I was expecting a lot but didn't think it would be better than the reunion tour. Well, i was wrong.... it was much better. The pyros were great, the sound was incredibly good and the guys were in top shape yesterday night, especially Ace and Peter. As a matter of fact, Ace was excellent, his solos were right on the money. He sounded just like the records, wich is great. Peter didn't miss a beat all night. Compare to last year concert i have to say that he sounded heavier last night. Gene and Paul did their usual tricks... and man, it worked again. Can you get enough of Gene spitting blood on the crowd? Don't think so! Here is the set list:

1) Psycho Circus (Off course)
2) Shout it out loud
3) Deuce
4) Do you love me (nice to hear again)
5) Firehouse
6) Shock me
7) Let me go rock'n'roll
8) Calling Dr. Love (one of my fav)
9) Into the void + Ace's solo (Great)
10) King of the night time world
11) God of Thunder (Blood, blood, and more blood, hi! hi!)
12) Within (Only mishaps of the night, just horrible)
13) Cold Gin
14) Love Gun (Paul flying to the crowd)
15) 100,000 years
16) Rock'n'roll All nite (Did someone said confettis???)

Encore 1: Beth
Encore 2: Detroit Rock City
Encore 3: Black Diamond

Missing in Action: Makin' Love & I was made for loving you

Surprisingly, one of the song that had the warmest welcome was Into the void, even more than Shock me. Since it's my favorite on the new album i was thrill to see that reaction. As i said, within was b.a.d. People don't care for that song. At least at the concert in Montreal yesterday. I was disappointed not to hear Makin' love. I don't care much about I was made for loving you but Makin' love would have been great. One word on the 3D thing. It is great at the beginning, but it's the same stuff over and over, so you get tired real quick. Anyway, i wasn't there to look at the screen if you know what i mean. The Molson Center was packed. No empty seats in the house. And everybody was up on their feets for the whole night. Compare to the last show the boys had done in Montreal (Reunion), the crowd was even older. I even saw a couple of guys with suits and ties.... Wow! Corporate rock? Nah! Simply put: Best rock'n'roll show all around. If you have a chance to go see Kiss, don't miss it guys... Out of 10 i will give a 9.5. Simply the best. One last word on those laser pointers. Yep! There was a bunch of assholes there with the thing. At least 5-6 people. Paul had to do his, now routine, monologue about the shoving into the ass bit. Man! Let me tell you something.... This is not fun! I paid a lot of money to enjoy the show, and so have the 18,000 others, so next time do us a favor.... stay in your bedroom with your teddy bear and blanket and give us a rest. By the way, one of the laserdork was caught by security and thrown out of the building. Big round of applause for the security in Montreal. Clap! Clap! Clap! Thanks Kiss for a memorable night! Cya next time.....
