Well, I was waiting for this night to come (Mon 11/23 at MSG in New York) at it came and went as usual. Kiss was basically doing its standard show, not much new, including the music. The 3-D effects were okay but nothing where you would leave totally impressed. Basically, they wre really loud, at times difficult to understand, seemed rushed and very choppy. Overall it was a good concert if your a new fan. But, I have been following them since 1975 and its hard to see any new excitement. They could start by playing more songs from Psycho Circus. This is the Psycho Circus Tour isn't it?. Or is it the Repeat Tour. Don't drink and drive and its time to call out doctor love are played out at this juncture. I am not sure why they didn't play more off the new album, maybe its hard to play live.
My set list for a new show would have been as follows:
Psychco Circus
You wanted the Best
Take Me
Detroit Rock City
Parasite Lady
Strutter
Jungle
Shout It Out Loud
What is my Charisma
We are One
Dreamin
Into the Void
War Machine
I just want to forget You
Forever
2000 Man (Tell you have a virus - y2k bug- and we need the 2000 man)
Black Diamond
Hide Your Heart
Who wants to be Lonely
Trial By Fire
Get me out of this Rock and roll Hell
Anything for My baby
Journey of 1000 Years
Shandi
Got to Choose
Creatures of the Night
I Finally Found My Way
I pledge Allegiance
Raise Your Glasses
Rock and Roll All Night
Basically you play about 30 songs, and you cut out the same old nonsense of the blood spitting, fire breathing, guitar solos, drum solos, flying around and keep the bullshitting to a minimum. How many times can you watch and hear and say big deal to the same stuff. In two hours, 30 songs or more is a cinch.
At this point, music is the name of the game. I guess such a set list would mean they would need to practice alot harder. For $50 a ticket, I pretty much got taken for a rocket ride.
