No Kansas City date yet, so me and a buddy drove 2 1/2 hours to Omaha to see the almighty KISS!!!!!!!!!
Openers ECONOLINE CRUSH was a pleasent surprize compared to last tours opening bands (except Alice In Chains). Their set lasted about 30 minutes sounding like STP meets The Cult. Worth getting there early to see them.
Then it was time. The curtain was up, AC/DC was jamming through the P.A., and the Omaha sellout crowd was pumped.
"You wanted the best....." Curtain falls. Welcome to the show mutha fuckas!!! What???? No vocals!!! Pauls mic was DEAD!!! Oh well, after the first verse (just in time for the chorus) he runs to Ace's mic and finishes the song. The set included all the KISS standards plus three new tunes. Everyone knows the set list by now so I will not get into it. The 3D was killer!!!! Other than that nothing new here. But KISS' music was in top form and Peter's voice on "Black Diamond" absolutly kicked major ass!!! "100,000 Years" was my personal favorite. Like everyone else has been saying "Within" just doesn't seem to fit in the arena format.
All in all it was a great show. Now I patiently wait for the "Circus" to come to Kansas City.
