THANKS for having this place to get all the KISS info, it's greatly appreciated.
Pittsburgh 12/4/98.
As always KISS rocked like no one else. The 3-D stuff actually worked and was kinda cool.
Same set as previous, listed as follows:
PC, Shout it out loud, Duece, Love me?, Firehouse, Shock me!!!, Let me
go RnR, Dr. Love, Into the Void, King, God, Within, Cold Gin!!!, LOVE
GUN, 100,000 Yrs, RnR Allnite/ Beth, Detroit, Black Diamond
The show ran over two hours and the place was packed to the rafters.
HIGHLIGHTS: Ace and Paul were in great form. LOVE GUN smoked. Into the Void made full use of the 3-D. The crowd was into all of it, and it seemed that more people were in costume, the ages ranged from five to fifty. Not many hand held lasers (although Paul talked about it as previous reviews discussed). The jams and buildups into songs rocked and were better than the reunion shows. The show was fantactic. Bottom line: The Hottest Band in the World continues to pull it off. GO IF YOU CAN!!! Take someone who's not a fan and you'll convert them.
LOWLIGHTS: It was my 1st PC show, after 3 reunion shows and 3 no makeup shows. The only complaint is the limited set list, and knowing that a year from now, I'll be glad to pay for the privilege of seeing them again and play PC songs like "pledge allegiance" and "you wanted the best" along with a couple of catalog songs. Gene is the greatest, but he was on autopilot, or its just that I've seen em too many times.
With the setlist being one filled with songs you know by heart, I'd suggest going cold turkey if your headed to a show. Hate to be a whiner, just wish that the show was different each night, the catalog is fantastic. How about a Destroyer show where thay play the album strait thru in its entirity.
