First to clarify...I would like to state for the record that I have been a "die hard" KISS fan my whole life . I have actually gotten into a few fist fights over the years defending the boys . However I have to say that the Bryce Jordon show in State College that I attended last night completely sucked!!!! To say that I'm disappointed would be a major understatement . KISS has lost it . They are nothing more than a bunch of "cheese balls" ripping their loyal fans off these days . The set list sucked.....I mean really sucked . Someone tell me how they could not play "You wanted the best" off the new album and then turn around and do "I was made for loving you" ? I'm still trying to figure that one out . They pass over doing their strongest material and opt for doing washed up shit material from the past . I could have done without "King of the Night time World " and "Shout it out Loud" and "Beth" . If they think that those songs are some of their better material...than I suggest they think again . The last tour they played all the old shit....I walked away feeling fairly satisfied and pretty much blown away from their performance(Pittsburg Civic Arena) I felt like the Gods of Rock had returned to claim their rightful place in the music world . But after last night....I think it's time for them to hang it up . I paid $42.50 to be bored and yawn alot . They have hyped the new tour up so much ...I was expecting something special....what I got was rehashed Kiss relying on the brilliance of their past . Should have saved my money...that's how I feel . I got robbed by the band I have stood by forever.....no more . Musically , they were not on at all . Especially Peter . He sucks ! I can play better than him ! He's about as basic as it gets . Going from Eric Carr back to Peter Criss........major , major drop in talent . Eric was the man....I saw him on the first tour without the makeup and he certainly did not disappoint . Peter however certainly does . Ace was on at certain points...played some decent shit but overall he missed alot and his solo...well....nothing new and exciting there . Same ol shit . Paul would go from acting pretty cool to "queerboy" of the universe . Sometimes I think he should have stayed in the "disco" era with all of his queerboy dancing about and gesturing . How can someone be so cool and the ultimate frontman and then turn around and act like he should be singing back up for Michael Jackson ? Paul was always my rock n roll hero but not anymore . He's turned into the ultimate gay boy...I'm starting to believe the rumors about his sexuality woes . Gene was cool for awhile but seemed like he was there more to pick up another pay check rather than give the fans the ultimate rock n roll show . He seemed kinda bored by what he was doing . I'll sum up my review by saying this.......... The sound sucked.......the musicianship was mediocre at best....same ol cheesy explosions and fire works and gay sparklers....If you paid to see them last tour.....don't waste your money on this one cuz theres nothing new. And the big 3d hype.......what a joke !!!!! That was truly "cheesy" . All in all.....I hate to say it...but KISS SUCKED ! They'll "never" con another ticket sale out of this guy . The legend died in my mind November 18, 1998 at the Bryce Jordon Center .
