Last night the KISS concert at Toronto's Skydome "Skytent" was fantastic. The sound quality was crisp and powerful this time. (Skydome "Skytent" is notorious for poor sound quality as what happened two years ago when KISS played: Ace's guitar/solos could barely be heard and the drums had constant echo.) The limitations of the venues size was also overcome this time with the inclusion of Pauls flying apparatus.
The show opened with Econoline Crush playing a 30 minute set that resembled background noise at a bar, then just under an hour later, the curtains fell for KISS.
There was no change to the song order, yet I could only find one fault in the set. Gene's attempt at "Within" lacked any type of tightness. The hard rock bridge and solo played great but quickly lost its cohesion when he started singing again.
Paul was his typical energetic self, Ace fired out a flawless show (not to mention an ability to avoid falling the entire time), Gene personality still had his evil overtones yet he really played up his humorous side-laughing, grinning, and loving the camera, Peter's drums pounded as he flew in the air and back without a hint any arm problems. The live 3D angles of the band made up for the recycled 3D stock footage.
All together the concert was an incredible stage show and historic experience.
