Psycho Circus Tour Reviews

From: Michel Sluyter

Before the concert there was a Convention in Utrecht with Bruce Kulick as a special guest. Looking at all the things that are for sale over there i wonder what this all has to do with Kiss. I mean golfballs??, baseballs??, inflatebale seats??. Anyway its fun to sea all that. I bought some nice CD's (bootleg from Dodger stadium, ESP album, Wicked lester II) The best item to buy there was ofcourse the Eric Carr mini CD. To my suprise they also sold a live video from the concert in Koln (march 8 1999!!!). There was ofcourse a Q & A with Bruce and he talked a lot about all kinds of things (Union, Eric Carr, and the current reunion tour.

And then ofcourse the concert that night in Utrecht. I did see them last (reunion)tour three times and loved it. This concert was no execption. I am not sure if it was sold out but there where a lot of people inside (i think about 14.000). They played a regular set with no suprises. The sound was very good. All the bandmembers where very much into it. There was lots more pyro than last time and the pyro was better to. great explosions, very large flames etc. The effect on ace's guitar with the spinning fire is very cool to. I read a lot of mixed reviews about the 3D stuff. I loved every minute of the 3D stuff. When Paul threw his first guitar pick, i was sure it was gonna hit my eyes, and at times you where almost sure you could touch the guys. During DRC they had some nice video footage of the Kiss car hitting a truck. The new songs form Psycho circus where well received, but i think they should play some othere songs from that album to (i pledge allegience and where is You wanted the best?) Anyway i had a good time and hope to see them again soon.
