KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Quentin
Well where do we start!

The big KISS curtain came down to the chords of Detroit Rock City at about 9pm, and the show finished at about 11:15pm.

I guess the set list was pretty much the same as previous concerts. Paul sang about half of Hard Luck Woman going into Shandi, and in the first encore, Ace played half of 2,000 Man (although he forgot to start singing, to the laughter of Gene and Paul), then gave up on that and played NY Groove. They went on and played Parasite, Makin' Love and She (not in that order, can't remember), except Ace didn't know what was going on and stopped briefly.

Over all a bloody good show, I was very impressed with Ace, apart from coming back on stage late 2 or 3 times between songs, he seemed to hold up well (reports from Perth said he was struggling by the end) and his playing/technique was as good as I've ever heard/seen.

Paul seemed to get pissed at a stage-hand at one part, after they were screwing around with Mic stands - both Gene and Paul were unsure which they could use due to tech troubles (I guess?)

Eric kicked total ass, he is truly a great drummer and lifted the standard of the other 3. He seemed to get good purchase on Ace's nuts when they were bowing at the end too.

Ace seemed a bit grossed out when Gene gave him a nice big lick on the neck, and maybe I'm imagining but it looked to me like Ace grabbed Gene's ass at this point.

Tickets where i was were $125, but i'd pay it again any day (my position from the stage seemed alot better than most of the $175 folks)

Go see this show!
