Drove to Atlanta from North Carolina to catch the show at the Philips Arena. This marked my 50th Kiss show since 1975 so I went in not knowing how I was going to feel about this "farewell" deal. I must admit, it bothers me more than I ever dreamed it would. In some ways, I still can't believe it. Kiss has been a part of my every day since 1973. The first show I attended in 75 had a crowd of around 300 people. I smiled last night, after all this time, looking around at another packed house in Atlanta. Who can say at age 40 that their favorite band in high school is still on top of the world? WE CAN! KISS FANS!
ON TO THE SHOW!
As I said, this was my 50th show and I left there feeling this may have been the best one I have seen. Even for Kiss shows, this was huge! The whole show is very tight and has a great flow to it. The guys themselves were in rare form. I can't remember seeing this kind of effort out of all four members at any show in ages. The set list has been mentioned over and over so I will move on. The lighting and video footage in this show will amaze you and touch your heart. Seeing the clips during "Do you love me" was especially great for us "oldies." It is also neat to see people of all ages getting into it like they did last night. Paul and Ace were slapping "high fives" all night. Peter was all smiles and sounded great. Gene was Gene to the max. It's incredible to look up and see these guys sweating their tales off to give you what you want. I'm like a lot of people. Ticket prices are going through the roof. [First Kiss show ticket cost $6.00] Last night I got my money's worth. Do yourself a favor. Buy the tour book. At $30.00 bucks I thought "whew," but believe me, this is worth $30.00. It is huge.
I've tried not to spoil anything for those who haven't been yet. Please go if you can. You will not regret one minute of it. Now off to Columbia, SC, Charlotte, NC, Greenville, SC, and Greensboro, NC this week. [Anybody giving away $$$$] I can hardly wait and yet it will be over before I know it. I hope these four men can somehow realize what they have meant to people like me. It has truly been a wonderful ride.
