KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: J-X
I know I'm going to be one fo the few here who has a negative slant on things, but I'm sorry. I have been a KISS fan since '76 and I'm glad they're giving it up.

I must preface things by saying KISS puts on a great show, best in the rock biz by far. At the same time, it gets old seeing the same show over and over.

The set list was the same that I've read from previous shows (no I Stole Your Love). Besides Paul (who gets better everytime I've seen him, the rest of the band is getting old and lathargec(sp). Ace forgot the first verse to Shock Me(Paul had to help him out) and it seemed like Peter botched a line in one of his songs. The 80's songs to me just sucked, there are so many 70's songs they could have covered to make the fans happy(and let's face it, 90% of the people there were there to see the OLD KISS ...though the band played for years after the make-up, I don't care about that stuff as much and if I did, I'd go see Union). Overall, the band was pretty good, but not great.

What's up with the psuedo-pyro? They had the booms, but no explosions.....very lame. And the tourbook wasn't worth 30 bucks, it doesn't even have some dates listed (i.e. Nashville Jan 2, 1999).

All in all, the concert was okay, but not what I expected. For $65 bucks I did expect a little more and I was disappointed. I went to this show knowing it would be the last time and to close out the memories I had of the band and now I have.
