KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Bryan
I must say that out of the 3 times I have seen KISS, this was by far the BEST one I have seen! Read on:

Skid Row was a nice flashback to the late 80's but this new lead singer has to go. They really need to get Sebastian back. Ted Nugent needs to get off the concert stage and back to his hunting business. While I do agree everyone has first amendment rights, I feel a concert is not a place to get political. We are there to enjoy the music, not have his personal views shoved down our throats. His foul mouth and comments made me sick.

And now KISS: What an awesome show! The pyro, and the stage show were by far the best I have ever seen! I was also impressed with the two ladies that were making up people's faces as the members of KISS. I had them make me up as Peter, and they did a fantastic job. I have a completely shaved head, so they applied some makeup to the back of my head with the KISS logo, and I was a hit the whole evening! It made a nice conversation piece. We sat 11th row center for the show, the seats were great! The Bakersfield Convention Center is by far the best place for a concert.

Here is my revue: As everyone has been saying, when "Heavens On Fire" and "Lick It Up" were played you could tell that Ace and Peter were not that much into it. Ace had a sour look on his face at the beginning of "Heavens On Fire." I think they should have just performed 70's KISS songs Vs the 80's material. (Don't get me wrong I love KISS in the 80's) A couple disappointments with this show: The encore did not include "I Stole Your Love" which I understand they had been doing prior to the Anaheim show. Everytime I see them, they seem to leave that one off the playlist. I hope when I see them in Dallas on April 2nd they will do it, as it is one of my favorite KISS songs. Some other songs missing from the playlist I would have loved to have heard were "Strutter", "Hotter Than Hell", "Come On And Love Me", "I Was Made For Lovin You" "Goin Blind" and "Shandi" (OK I threw in one 80's song, but at least it is the original line up on the "Unmasked" album) The worst thing about the concert was the guy sitting next to me? "Andre" was drunk out of his mind, and for 20 minutes before the show I got the "pleasure" of listening to the inane story about him maxing out his credit card so he couldn't see KISS in San Jose on thier last tour, and how he drove from Fresno to San Jose to buy a scalped ticket. When the show started he was singing at the top of his lungs, drowning out Paul & Gene's vocals. I had to ask him to tone it down so I could hear the show. He was a sloppy drunk, but I refused to let him ruin the show for me. I guess at one time or another we have all sat next to an "Andre" type at a concert. Andre, by chance you are reading this, here is some advice for you: BETTY FORD.

It was great to hear "Love Gun," "Psycho Circus," "Do You Love Me," and "100,000 Years." The rest of the playlist was predictable. Ace's guitar playing was great as always! Paul's vocals sounded great! Peter's drums, awesome! And Gene....What a showman! His onstage antics are GREAT!

All in all, this was a GREAT SHOW! Can't wait to see them in Dallas!

Rock On People! Peace Out!
