KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Mike R.
I have to admit I was cynical when the guys announced the Farewell Tour. When the setlist was made public, I was even more cynical. A friend and I even called it the Redundant Tour 2000. I'm 35 years old and have been a fan and KISS ARMY member for as long as I can remember. I've been to alot of KISS shows with and sans make up. Since this was the Farewell Tour I went ahead and obtained my ticket. I'm so very glad I did. The show was amazing! There was no Plaster Caster, Got to Choose, Take Me, Parasite, C'mon and Love Me....etc. As the familiar strains of DRC filled the Birmingham Civic Center, and I saw firsthand the total energy the guys were putting behind the show, a thought struck me out of no where. Gene, Paul, Pete, and Ace DIDN'T have to hit the road to Bid the Army farewell. They were doing this because they cared. Paul never got tired of thanking us for making his dreams come true. I almost got Misty eyed when the video played during "Do You Love Me"! Paul did a great job of preaching the gospel of Rock and Roll. Peter started out rather slowly, but by the end he was hitting the drums for all he was worth. Ace was Ace....what else can I say? Gene was REALLY in character! As the remainder of the setlist was thrown at us (with VERY high volume I might add) I thought to myself that this would be the last time I would hear KISS do that song. If you have a chance....and are a KISS fan..do yourself a favor and catch this show. This tour is a celebration for us all. Thank you guys for all the great music over the years! You will be missed!
