Wow!!! What a way to end a career. Kiss played with all the intensity of an up and coming band here on Friday night. From the ferocity Gene attacked every note with to the little square dance move he and Ace did while moving from one side of the stage to the other, you could tell they were having fun. Paul worked the crowd like a southern preacher, calling on the spirit of Rock 'n' Roll that he felt in the arena.
Peter was really impressive on this outing. He started out tentatively, as if his much talked about problems with his arms were bothering him still, but by the midway point of the show, he was pounding the skins with authority, smiling through every song and obviously having the time of his life.
Openers Skid Row and Ted Nugent did a fine job of warming us all up for the onslaught to come. I was especially impressed that Ted brought out local player Damon Johnson, of Brother Cane and soon Damn Yankees, to play Cat Scratch Fever with him.
All in all, a night to remember and a night for Kiss to be proud of.
