KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Karen
All I can say is WOW !!! I am not going into the set lists as everyone knows them already. I have not seen KISS since the "Lick It Up" phase, haveing seen them in the 70's, the unmasked phase was a dissapointment for me. I was lucky enough to get 3rd row center tickets for the show(Thank you, Steve)and like I said before....WOW. From the opening chords of Detroit Rock City to the closing ones of Rock and Roll all night, they stole the hearts of everyone from the top of the rafters to the "front row girls". Everyone flew on cue, tons of confetti, we even got blood !! It gives you a whole new perpcective when you see everything up so close. The band really played up to the crowd, I had no idea they cut up with the audience so much. Ace looked to be in bad shape, maybe that's what everyone means by "Ace was being Ace", Peter looked like he was having a blast, Paul was shaking it for all he is worth, and of course Gene was doing the usual tounge gymnastics to entice the ladies !!

The sound lacked a little, I attribute that to the old building and the proximity of which we were to the stage. Pyro was top notch, lots of rockets, lots of everything. I did notice that Paul didn't talk as much as he used to, I have to say that is a good thing. All in all, it was an awesome show, it's neat to me the amount of people going to multiple shows, we met lots of people, some from as far away as Germany who are going to show after show. Not many bands are lucky enough to have such a devout following and I truly do hope they realize it. This was the first of 5 or 6 shows for me, I will report back later !!
