KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Jason Bonner
Only one word can describe this concert. Incredible. I arrived at the colesium about an hour early. I bought a shirt and then sat down for a while. It was a long wait, especially because there was a kid close by who wouldnt shut up. The lights went out and everyone screamed, and then Skid Row came out and played for a while. A few songs they played were "Youth Gone Wild", "I Remember You", "18 And Life" And "Monkey Business." They played really well, and my ears were already hurting. I didn't bring earplugs. We waited about fifteen minutes, and then a big KISS banner came down and everyone started cheering. Then, fifteen minutes later, the lights went out, and the opening speech of "Alllllrigghhht Charlotte, You wanted the best, you got the best. The hottest band in the world...KISS!" Immediatley, pyros went off and the banner dropped. They all came down on a platform singing "Detroit Rock City." The crowd was really pumped, and Paul made sure they were hyped up. After a few songs such as "Do You Love Me?" and "Shout It Out Loud", Gene, Paul, and Peter left. Ace did a long solo, and included his smoking guitar act and then the guitar rose up into top part of the stage, (By the way, the stage was amazing.) Earlier also, Gene did his fire breathing skit. Then the band came out and sang songs like "Physco Circus" and "I Love It Loud." Once again the band left, except for Gene who then spit the blood. Gene even stuck his tounge out and yelled "Wassssssssuppp!". That was a funny part. The cameras moved to the audience, and at least 20 girls flashed the camera. Then Gene rose to the lights, and the band came out. They played more songs (with Gene still up there, but he came down during the song). The band left for a third time, and Paul sang "I Still Love You." He pumped the crowd, and then had us cheer. If we got into a red zone, he would come out into his "family." We did it, and the band kicked into "Love Gun" in which he got on the rope and flew out over the crowd. By this time, thousands of bras and panties had been thrown onto the stage. Paul came back and they sand a few more songs and then said "GOODNIGHT! WE LOVE YOU ALL!" and it went black. People stayed in their seats, and we all chante, "KISS, KISS, KISS, KISS." Peter came out and sang my favorite song, "Beth." He broke down a little bit when someone threw his mom's favorite flowers on stage. He then said "God bless you" to the crowd, and left. The fans didnt give up, we kept chanting. This time, everytime we did, the kiss logo would light up. KISS came back out and took a bow, then Paul said "You know what? Lets give em' one more song!" The crowd roared, and they broke into "I Wanna Rock And Roll All Night." Millions of pieces of confetti (I saved some) went into the crowd. Then Paul broke his guitar and threw it in the crowd, as pyros went off. The concert was over, but not the fans love for them. As people walked out, they commented KISS and were talking about how much they will miss them. That was my first KISS show, and I wish I could see them again. But the memories will live on. Gene, Paul, Peter, Ace....Thank you for everything, your music has touched my heart, and as you have said before, "LEGENDS NEVER DIE!!!!"
