KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Ron Ivanjack
This was my third show of the tour and second in as many nights. My seats were just 6 rows further back than yesterday’s but with the number of empty seats in our row, we move to center. The arena was noticeably less full than last night but the crowd was much louder.

Skid Row played a tight 30 minute set all from the first 2 albums opening with Riot Act. Even without Bas, the songs are good.

Ted is a solid performer. It was his birthday and his son brought him his guitars. Tommy Aldridge continues to be rock solid.

Now for the real good stuff. Kiss was on fire. They were far more enthusiastic than less night. All effects worked perfectly. Ace shot a third rocket over the crowd. Again, he did play any older snippets of his songs during his solo. Peter was especially solid though his solo was a little short and he did botch 2000 Man several times. No changes to the set list from last night. Even Gene redeemed himself in my eyes from last night by tonight focusing on everyone not just the ones who’s exposed themselves. I’ve read about people losing it during the video for Do You Love Me and tonight I fell victim. I started balling my eyes out. Kiss has been there for me for 20 years.

The band kicked major ass. Next up for me is a road trip to Peoria for my first General Admission Kiss show. This should be interesting.
