KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Dr. Love
Simply one of the best triple bills Ive ever seen!! Each band was better than the previous one, and KISS absolutely CRANKED on this "most holy night" as Paul put it.

SKID ROW- Surprisingly FANTASTIC. The arena was about 2/3 full when the skids took the stage, and they played for about 40 mins. Their new singer was fantastic and the band sounded tight. Im not sure of their exact setlist, but all the hits were covered: 18 and Life, I Remember You, Monkey Business, Youth Gone Wild, etc. They were loud, energetic and enjoyable. A great first act.

UNCLE TED- What can I say here? Ted is simply a tremendous person. He played for about an hour, and for a 3 piece band, they were flying. Ted was running all over the stage, and Tommy Aldridge was hitting his drums so hard that I was waiting for them to break. Ive liked Tommy since way back in the day, and I didnt think he still has it in him Mike Mendoza just kind of stayed in his place, but proved to be a great headbanger. Ted gave credit to Skid Row for playing a good set, and then got the crowd crazy for KISS. All Ted's hits were covered except Wango Tango!!!! Where was that Ted!?! He did however play all the fan favorites: Dog Eat Dog, Stranglehold, Free For All, Great White Buffalo, Kiss My Ass, Cat Scratch Fever, Wang Dang Sweet Poontang, etc. "Terrible Ted" was tight, energetic, and well, he's TED!!!

KISS- Well, it was one of the best shows Ive ever been to, and probably the best KISS show Ive seen. They were insane on this night. TONS of energy, a great performance, and a loud, crazy, sold out Allstate Arena was the perfect equation for the best rock show ever. Paul was hitting ALL the high notes and danceing like a maniac all night. He is the definitive rock and roll star. Gene was Gene. Fire, Blood and flirting with the ladies all night. What more can be said? Peter was a pleasant surprise. He was drumming hard and loud and he sang the sh*t out of Black Diamond. His drum solo during 100,000 years was fantastic and he seemed to be having fun all night long, laughing and headbanging. Ace was DEAD ON tonight!! His vocals sounded good, he was having fun, he diddnt miss a note on ANY of his solos and of course he pulled out his little bag of tricks, with the smoke, rockets and sparks. Each member of the band played his heart out, and thus the show was something Ill never for! get. The setlist was the same, but the order of the songs was a bit different, as noted below. So in closing, let me just warn you: IF YOU HAVE EVEN THE SLIGHTEST CHANCE TO SEE THIS BAND ON THIS TOUR, YOU BETTER GO!!! YOU CANNOT FATHOM WHAT YOULL BE MISSING IF YOU DONT GO!!
