I wanted the best, and of course I got it, this my 8th show of the tour. I flew from Seattle to catch the 2 Cleveland shows, and Grand Rapids and on the plane I was talking to this guy about my trip. He thought I was the most insane person ever, but there was no way he could understand, as his favorite band is Duran Duran. Currently my KISS show total is 20, and I have seen them in Cleveland twice (Psycho Circus, 98) which freaks me out as Ive never seen them in the same city 3 times...until tomorrow night.
Anyhow, this show was awesome. I missed them! My last show was Reno and I was more impressed with Skid Row tonight than any of their other shows. Its interesting, seeing how they develop with the new guy. At first, in Vegas he sucked but he did pretty good tonight. Not-Bas even dropped his "Im from Texas" speech. Coming into this tour I loved Ted Nugent, now I would be happpy if I never saw him again. Musically the band is awesome but his ranting is just too much for me. I was glad he cut it back, but I still dont think a rock concert is the place for it. Something I dont understand, if Ted doesnt like gays so much, why does he ask Jesse Jackson to go down on him every night? As Ted says, "Just an idea, just an idea." Loser.
KISS was top form, it was grand to hear the Wont Get Fooled Again intro again, although the curtain got stuck in the big "Yeeeaaaaahhh!" Oh well. We all know the setlist so I wont go into it but something that Ive been really impressed with on this tour is how Paul is ending 100, 000 Years- the drawn out "style". It sounds really cool! Ive never much liked I Still Love You, and would prefer he does Forever like he did in Tucson, but it too sounded really strong although nobody around me was singing along. The crowd was really into the show, except with Psycho Circus, Let Me Go, etc it got quiet around me but I was stunned when the lady behind me asked me to sit down during Lick It Up!! We're at a KISS show, no sitting allowed! Jeese.
Im exhausted from my trip but am jazzed as all getout at the show Saturday night. A big, friendly Olympia, WA wave to everyone...or something.
