KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Bud E. Luvbomb
KISS friggin rules as usual!!! Last week in Cleveland I had tix right next to Pauls ministage, and tonite, as luck would have it, I had tix right next to Pauls mini-stage again!! Thank you God!! Same set list of course. This was the first time I have seen KISS outdoors, so I was skeptical about a lot of things. Would the stage be as big, wouuld the pyro be as huge, would Paul fly? etc. No worries fans going to ampitheatre shows. The stage was not quite as wide, but all of the effects are there. We were not sure if Paul was going to fly into the crowd or not, because the stage was not there at first and it was very windy, but the crew quickly built the stage in the middle of the aisle to my left a couple of songs before "Love Gun," then quickly tore it down. It was awesome! The wind was pretty feirce at times non-the-less, initially the KISS ARMY banners were up for all to see at either side of the stage, but they were taken down beacuse of the wind. The only o! ther small complaint I have is the fault of the venue. Polaris does not allow concerts after 11pm, so the show started and hour earlier than scheduled, and although KISS came out at 9 as usual, it was still daylight out, which kinda took awy from the atmosphere. However, I was close enough to the stage that it did not deter me.

The crowd, although not a complete sell out as the radio was advertising "lawn seats still available, was pretty raucous for Columbus. Columbus crowds can be pretty laid back, but there was a real energy tonite. It was the KISS Farewell Tour! Plus, this was the opening show of the Polaris Concert Series, a sure sign that summer is here, so everyone was pumped. Skid Row, were pretty lame again, that singer was off key. Dave "Snake" Sabo did come out to watch KISS paly though, which was cool. Ted was a little more tolerable this time, he talked less politics thank god. At any rate, do not miss this show!!!!!!!
