KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Darin E. Gates
What a great night for Rock and Roll!! It almost felt like a festival in the 70's wITH Ted Nugent and KISS. Skid Row was okay even though Rachel Bolan didn't show up and the other guitarists had to trade off playing bass. Ted Nugent took the stage next and played his show at a ferocious pace, he sounded great! Then came KISS! The lights went off at the Polaris Amphitheater and the band came on with "Detroit Rock City" then quickly erupted into "Deuce". From then on was pure magic!! The show was fantastic. Paul actually got stuck in the middle of the crowd for a moment during "Love Gun" when his lift tried to take off without him! They got it back and he made it back to the stage to finish off the song with his usual flare!

The show went on for about 2 hours and it was very emotional for me. This would be the last time I would see the band together for the rest of my life, a life that included KISS in it for most of it! I'm looking forward to the newer endeavors of the band and will certainly follow, especially Ace. The show was teriffic and the band was extremely thankful to the fans for all of the years. Peter's statement was the best I thought...right after he finished "Beth" he thanked everyone for being with the band through everything for all these years. The show ended with "Rock and Roll all Night" amid a deluge of confetti! I was very happy with the show but I really would have liked to have seen "I Stole your Love". Peter's solo was very short and with little effect this time but this may be due to his wrist problems. All in All a tremendous show and the fans seemed very happy. I will always remember KISS and from what they say, they will never forget us! The way things should be!
