KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Seamus O'Reilly
Tonight concluded my 3rd '3 nights in a row' on this tour, the others being Vegas-Anaheim-SD, and the 2 Clevelands-Grand Rapids. I got to the Pavilion really early and fought the heat, and yes, it was indeed hot in the shade. I talked to the ushers a bit and they were impressed that I was following KISS around. Neve played for about a half hour, I was not too impressed although apparently they have a song on the radio and some younger girls were singing along to it.

Part of being a KISS fan is the kind of family that comes with it. There have been 2 guys Ive seen at shows all over, one Ive seen at Seattle, the last two Vancouvers, Phoenix and Marsville, and the other Ive seen at all the shows since George. Well, this second guy came up to me and offered me an extra ticket in the 5th row-I was sitting in the last row of the floor. I was quite thankful. Including tonight I've seen KISS 27 times but still get shivers when I hear the beginning of Wont Get Fooled Again. And of course I still get shivers when the lights go down. This show was great, awesome, fantabulous. The crowd was super into it and I enjoyed Paul saying "Con-chord" as opposed to me saying "Con-curd."

Some notes of the show itself-Paul didnt sing the second "the carnival has just begun" from Psycho Circus, Gene forgot some of Let Me Go RNR so Paul sang it for him. Paul introed 2000 Man but Ace wasnt even on the stage. And during Black Diamond Peter sang "Ace's got you under his thumb." And right before smashing his guitar someone tossed a beachball to Paul. Paul tossed it up, used his guitar as a bat and hit it back into the crowd.

It was a great night. I got sentimental at the end and got misty eyed. And that concludes this review. If ya see a guy whos a dead ringer for Andreas Kisser of Sepultura wearing a coat with a Lick It Up patch at any upcoming shows, please say hi. Actually, Ive met alot of people who frequent this webpage. Very cool. And with that...
