KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Chris Sakowski
Well asl with some of the other reviewers, I have been a fan since the beginning...This was my third time to see Kiss..I saw them Oct 15, 1983 in San Sebastian Spain (I was in the USAF), then I saw them in OK city Sept 11, 1996 for the reuion tour..My 14yo son was so mad he could not go then, So for his birthday this year I bought him tickets, I mean this was his only chance to see the greatest band in the world.. We sweated out bad weather all week long, The Starplex in Dallas is an outdoor amphitheater..Well we got there about 2pm to try and catch the sound check. Also getting there that early and entering from a different gate we did not have to pay the $9.00 for parking... ANyway on to the reviews....

Skid Row- absolutly sucked...We had lawn seats, well actually mud seats, and the sound was awful, vocals drowned out all the music. Singer sounded like crap too...

Ted Nugent- I never saw Gonzo before, and from all the other reviews that I have read they said he sucked..WRONG!!!! The Nuge rocked the house.. it was awsome.. Tommy Aldridge was awsome on drums too.. I had seen him with Whitesnake...Ted did get very political , but I agree with alot of what he was saying... Now for the big show...

Kiss- I was hoping to write down the set list but I forgot to get something to write it down.. It was awsome. from the opening chords of DRC, to the drop of the lights at the end of RRAN..it was super.. Some of the reviews said that Ace and Peter looked like they did not enjoy the 80's stuff, it was far from that in Dallas.. they were having the time of their lives.. always laughing and smiling..Ace's solo was phenomenal..bits and pieces from song intros and the 2001 theme..Sound and lighting were great..About 4 or five songs left in the set and the rain started, also alot of lightning. I thought the lightning just ampliphied the moment. My son, I thought was gonna wet his pants he was so excited when it all started.. He could not talk much afterwords cause his throat hurt...He said he sang every song and was jumping up and down all over the place.. I guess Kiss made his millenium...

All in all well worth the $84.00 I paid for the tickets..It was a great time and wonderful show..I will miss Kiss, and as Paul said He will miss us too.. I am hoping, like the reunion tour, they will come through one more time.. I will defenatly be there...Rock on Kiss, We will never forget you.....Thank you for 27 years of Rock and Roll...You are the greatest...
