Well, what can be said that hasn't been said over & over on this tour. The show was
AWESOME!!! The boys were at the top of their game. This was my 3rd Farewell show &
I believe they're getting better & better. I had 6th row on the floor, best seats I've had so far.
As we all know Skid Row started the show & actually I was pleasantly surprised. I had skipped them my first two farewell shows, but I thought they sounded decent. New singer isn't Bach, but he was very energetic & did his best to please.
Next was Ted, who I had seen my previous two shows, rocked well as usual. Same comments, Ted being Ted.
Kiss came on at 9:15 & played a full two hours. Setlist obviously the same, didn't matter to me. They are the masters of the house. The show was not sold out, I would estimate about 8,000 people, but the crowd was very vocal. From Detroit Rock City to Rock N Roll All Nite, the boys gave a show to remember. I might be biased but every song sounded excellent. Ace was hitting on target, Peter didn't miss a beat. Paul was the master showman & Gene was himself, second to none. Paul & Gene played up to the crowd(especially the ladies in the front row),Ace & Peter were all smiles the whole night. Before Rock n roll all nite, Gene chased peter around the stage, all laughing & having fun.
I have been a fan since 1975 & will soon be 39years old. I am saddened that this will probably be the last time I see the "Greatest & Hottest Band in the World" in their original form, but at the same time I am gratefull for this tour to have a last chance to experience what I always knew: KISS IS THE GREATEST LIVE ROCK N ROLL BAND. No other band has or ever will put on a rock n roll show like KISS. I thank them for all the fun, that's what rock n roll is all about. THANK YOU KISS!!!
