KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Steven D.
In my own humble opinion words cannot do justice to the feelings I have towards this band or to the amazing job they did this night in Denver.I,like so many others there took my son to the show.Being the good father that I am I had always told him that if KISS EVER came to Denver,we would be there, and since he's been listening to KISS since he was a wee lad he was more than ready to go.Well, neither of us were dissapointed.

1st:Skid Row.Missed them.Without Bas,why bother?Nuff said.

2nd:Ted Nugent. What can I say.The first time I heard Stranglehold I was hooked!!!At that point I knew that there was something special about that guy.And he proved me right.Yeah, there were some political moments, but so what!!It was his hour and he can do whatever he damn well pleases with it.Besides,if you can rock like that, then by all means let it fly.And rock he did.I had never seen the NUGE,but the wait was well worth it.This is the way it used to be done and shame on us for ever letting this kind of rock-n-roll go out of style to the KORN and LIMP DIKSUX of the world.SHAME ON US!!!!

3RD:KISS.DAMN,THE BOYS STILL GOT IT!!!! It's gonna be hard to let go of such an enduring American icon, but let go we must. This is it.You've probably read the other reviews,so you know the set list, the attitudes of the guys..etc.But personally speaking this was a bittersweet moment in time.I watched KISS grow and change over time, just as I grew and changed, and being able to have my son there to witness the worlds greatest band for his first concert, and their last,in Denver was almost too much. When Do You Love Me came on and the retrospective video was playing,it was all I could do to keep a dry eye. There we were, father and son, singing songs and screaming our lungs out all night. And when it finally came time to say goodbye,my son,all of 5 yrs. old,but wise beyond his years, looked at me and said,"DAD,KISS REALLY DOES PUT ON THE BEST SHOW IN THE WHOLE WORLD",that's right son,and all else will pale by comparison. As we left the arena we spotted the guy who got the neck from Pauls splintered Washburn, and both shouted"He's got the neck, too cool!!",and upon hearing us he gave us a huge grin of approval, tucked the neck into his coat and walked briskly away.Lucky bastard.God gave rock-n-roll to us,but KISS perfected it.Thank you guys for a wonderful ride.
