KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Doug Swiatkowski
Only one thing to say, THANKS YOU FOR THE YEARS GUYS. From my first concert, at the Pontiac Silverdome in 1979, to this last finale, and 10 shows in between, I have never been disappointed and the Farewell shows in Detroit were no different.

4th row center seats for the first show WOW, you could see everything perfectly and I got a few picks. 2nd row on risers to the side for second show.

Gene was right on not only playing and singing but in keeping the crowd rolling. My buddy sitting next to me was made up like Gene and Gene pointed to him and smiled. Way cool.

Can anyone stop Paul Stanley when he is on a roll? The was not an inch of stage that he did not walk, run, or jump on. His voice was perfect and his banter, the best in years, especially since he backed of from singing everytyhing between songs.

Ace, was Ace. Both nights he was dead on and his vocal sounded good. When Ace is on , there is nothing like it.

Peter was the biggest surprise of all. I have heard and read reviews of earlier shows which comment on PETER NOT REALLY BEING TO ANIMATED. I saw the Pepsi simulcast of the Chicago show on line, and Peter looked low on energy. Not in Detroit. He was standing up at the end of songs, playing with crowd, and playing his ass off. The cat man was on.

Guys, you got me through the roughest years of my life, the teen years, and have been a part of some of my favorite memories. I spent an evening with you in Tiger Stadium to say welcome back, I spent New Years 1999 with you at the Palace in Detroit, and I had the honor to bid you farewell not once , but twice. I will miss ya.

You have to know that you guys went out on top!
