KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Jon Melton
First of all Skid Row did much better than I had expected. Much better than they werein the early 90's. Their best crowd pleasing song would have to be Youth Gone Wild", closely followed by "Eighteen". A good band to get things started.

Next up was "Uncle" Ted Nuget. When he came out with a zebra striped shirt and a racoon tail pinned on to his butt, you knew you were in for a treat. He began with some songs such as "Free for all", nothing special, but then he came out with the funny and insulting "Kiss My Ass" song. A real crowd pleaser. And of course he had to do "Cat Scratch Fever" (which by the way rocked!).

Now for the main event KISS! They opened with a bang by entering on a platform in the ceiling, to the song "Detroit Rock City". Right off, Paul broke a string. He still preformed the rest of the song with ease, you couldnt even tell it if you didnt see it. Some of the real crowd rockers were, "Lick it Up", "Shout it Out Loud", "Heavens on Fire" (the special effects in that song rocked!), and "Firehouse", "Cold Gin", and of course "Rock n' Roll all Nite". But my favorite had to be "God of Thunder", Wow, Gene really showed off in this one!. Ace preformed "2000 Man", and Peter did an excellent job with "Beth". All of the guys rocked in this last KISS event at Evansville. I had high expectations, and the band broke all them all. All in all, a great concert.
