KISS Farewell Tour Reviews

From: Oscar
This is the third time I see Kiss on the Fairwell Tour. Eventhough it was great to experience Kiss live again, I felt very nostalgic because I knew I will never see gene , Paul, Ace , and Peter again. To start off with, I am a Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery resident at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. I bought the tickets for the concert at least two months ago. I didn't know, until a month ago that I was going to be on call the night of the concert. So until one day before the concert was when I could get someone to cover for me in the hospital while I attended the concert. My replacement showed up late that evening. I had to drive forty five minutes to the FW Convention Center and Arena. I thought I was not going to make it on time. I had two of my fellow residents waiting for me at FW and they were constantly paging me from the arena teasing me that Kiss was going to take the stage before my arrival. So I was doing 80-100mph on a call night, during a Trauma rotation in which all we see people that get hurt in car accidents. But I dindn't cared. I could picture myself as the guy that Kiss mekes reference to in Detroit Rock City.

I got on time to FW. You can sence Kiss in the air. The arena was 85% full. Everyone in great spirit. 9:35 hits, and the lights whent out. The classic humming sound and one thing that was different this time was that Kiss started playing DRC from the top of the stage. Peter's drums also descended along with the rest of the band. Really cool. Ace was surprisingly in a great mood. He seemd in a great mood and played great. His solo was excelent, and got everyone back into the show. Paul played I Still Love you almost to the end. His voice was excellent and apparently had no wigs that night, just his natural hair. Gene was cool as always, flirting with two girls in the first row, licking their fingers. Peter seemed tired or bored, but did fine. Nothing else different.

It was a great show. I was glad I could experience Kiss in their last concert in Texas. It is sad it is over for me but all good things sooner or later come to an end. I guess it is time for me to move on. I will miss The Hottest Band in the World but they will always live in me.
