This was my sixth Kiss show since the reunion and my first of the Farewell Tour, and despite cheap seats up in the grass, it was one of the best. I decided to bring my six year old son, Tucker, who has always wanted to come along, and it was the best thing I could have done! He had a blast - he danced his little butt off from Ted's first song through the last, and some guy came up and gave him $20. Despite the great set, people in our section were not on their feet and I began to wonder if this would be my first Kiss show sitting down. What was I thinking!
By the time the curtain dropped, we were all standing and I had my son on my shoulders. He screamed and whooped and hollered and clapped like an old pro even though it was his first concert and you would have thought he'd have been terrified. The two of us could not have had a better time. Having him there took me back to those times when I was a little kid and everything felt magic. He thought the guys were talking to him and that they could hear what he said back. We saw some guy in the parking lot on the way out dressed as Ace in Love Gun gear and Tucker yelled out "ACE! IT'S ME, TUCKER!" like they were old buds.
What else can I say? I've created a monster and I'm GLAD. Just too bad his first Kiss show was also his last. Won't be my last though - I'm flying to Texas for the August 23 show in Fort Worth, with my best friend, who managed to get FRONT ROW tickets from a broker. CAN'T WAIT and I'll be sure to post a review afterwards!
